So i bought a K100 from my local E-cig store earlier today, really excited, got it home and charged the battery etc. etc. Went to vape on it.. Nothing.. nothing firing. great. So then i thought i'd change and put my iClear 30 on it to see if that would work, again nothing. and again, great. I can't seem to work out what the problem is. I've put the battery in the right way round, and even tried it the other to see if it that was the problem.
Oh and to make matters worse, it looks like my iClear has stopped working on the normal eGo batteries, all i get from the battery now is rapid flashes despite it being on full charge. Please help! Just spend £55 on this for it to appear not to be working and breaking all my other ....

IMO it's highly unlikely the K100 is damaging your toppers.

So the iClear stopped working on your other battery. What is the other atty and can you try that on the eGo? If so, does that work?

Rapid flashes on a eGo battery probably means it thinks there is a short. After that it may shut itself down until you put it on charge for 10 seconds. Can you check the resistance of the iClear and let us know what it is please. Don't try the iClear again until you know it doesn't have a short.

This may be out in "left field" but it sounds like a connection pin issue. If the Iclear worked prior on another mod then not after trying it on the K100 perhaps the center pin was pushed in too far losing connection. If this remedies the issue try the working tank on the K100 again only tightening it down ever so little, take a hit and see if it fires, continue until it fires....if at all OFC.

if i put the other atty on the battery it doesn't flash however it doesn't fire and doesn't produce any vape. I've tested the iClear which showed 2.1 however now it doesn't seem to be reading anything which is very strange

I suspect there are two issues happening here.

The iClear has a problem. I don't know what you're checking resistance with so I don't know if not reading anything means it has a short (zero ohms) or the resistance is way high like what happens if the coil breaks. Firing the iClear on the K100 with a fresh battery would not have popped and broke the coil.

What is the other atty, what resistance is it and is the eGo battery turned on and working? Is the button lighting up when you hit it?

Also, when you screw a atty onto a battery don't overtighten it. You only need to tighten it as far is it needs so it makes contact and fires.

My K100 has a floating positive pin in the 510 connector. That means I can't overtighten most attys on it, but I believe not all K100's have that feature. Your eGo battery does not, so be gentle with it.

after testing different things out i think there might be a fault with the 18650 battery in the K100, since i found another cheap atty and tested it on it, which didn't work, however works on my eGo batteries. Will probably take it back to the store in the next week or so to see if i can get the battery replaces or the unit itself it they think it's that. either way it's a pain in the ....

A multimeter would help you out in this sort of situation. I'd take it back and let them figure it out, but there is a trick where you can jump start a 18650 battery with a 9 volt battery.

What is the battery brand/model btw?

It's nothing branded, just a cheap 18650 that came in the box by the looks of things

I use those all the time, $1.50 a pair on ebay auctions ^_^'. Not too bad in dual mode for the price, unless their doa of course.

You don't have an LED laying around or something to test if the battery is functional? No recommended, but if not, I would do the old school tongue test.

all sorted now, took it back to the store and they gave me a full refund. Went to this place up Birmingham called 'Grey Haze'. If you haven't heard of it and live local you should go and check it out. They're really helpful know heaps more than my local store. They make all their own Liquids as well which are insane. Bought a CoolFire from there and it's working like a charm. If you do go up i recommend that you ask one of the guys for their liquid called 'Fat Cow' it's like a milkshake kind of flavour and it's pretty insane. 30ML for £10. Also they brought out a new flavour which is probably one of the best i've had, they've had it for about a week, called 'Yellow Zombie' guy says he's had people buying bottles like hot cakes haha. Kind of sweet in the inhale and has a taste of sweet popcorn and cinnamon on the exhale, it's insanely addictive. Guy that makes them in the back store also's got his own nickname of the 'Doc' which is pretty cool if you ask me haha. Make his own signature flavour called 'Doc's Remedy' which i'm yet to try which i'll keep you all updated on when I do. But yeah, go check it out. Called 'Grey Haze' down past the HMV Institute next to the old custard factory. Thank you all for your help, i think i just bought a faulty unit with the K100 but all sorted now!:) thanks again
