I swear I'm the world's worst googler... Has there been a release date set for the version 2 yet? I'd love to have a subox kit, but not without the spring loaded pin. Is there a preorder anywhere that I'm missing?
There isn't an official release date yet. It is supposed to be released late July but I think it is more of a 'run through current supplies' thing.

Getting back to your question @SUPER K ... Avoiding all of the micro/macro/nano jargon, I build 2 types of coils. A "spaced" coil, where the wraps don't touch, like the one included in the Subox kit, and a "compressed" coil, where all the wraps are touching each other. If you want to build something similar to the coil included in the kit, 5 wraps of 26G will get you a ~0.6 ohm coil. If you're getting burnt hits and bad flavor, you may be choking the cotton and it's not able to keep up with juice demand. There's a really good thread that discusses the issues you're having here.
Crap, I just ordered 28g wire.

Tag @blivey she seems to know everything before the masses in regards to Kanger and she'll be the best resource I believe. IIRC end of July?
Lol. I just surf ecf, reddit, and LOTS of ecig facebook pages including both Kanger pages. No magic. Just a healthy curiosity for all things vape

Do a 28g parallel or 2 strand twisted 5/4 wrap at 3mm , should hit at .5ohms. The twisted would probably work better with the rda screws.

There's nothing magic about "0.5 ohms". For some juices I like coils closer to 1.0 ohms, as the vapor is cooler and flavor is better. Lots of variables and personal tastes. Whatever makes vaping the best experience for you.

The middle version was posted a couple pages back, near the Kanger colored sleeves. Made in Germany, Fat Tips maybe?
I think I actually posted the link. They just look really different set up like that. Kinda like a Playboy spread vs a home shoot. :p

Short glass, cut the chimney, cage would be a bear though. Wonder if they'd be hot hitters?
Yeah baby, yeah! ;) I think it would be a little too hot unless you built it a little higher. You would only be able to take 4-5 mm off. Would still be cool. Call it the stubby mini.
