Need some help here. My sample of Nude Nicotine showed up today, 70VG/30PG, My rba is having a hard time wicking in comparison to the 50/50 mixes I normally vape. I'm using the 28g 2 strand twisted coil I made a couple days ago and I'm down to 20/watts and longer rests between pulls to avoid the dry wick. I've heard of adding water a couple drops at a time to slightly thin the liquid? Is there something fundamental I'm missing here?
Even though it may sound counterintuitive, try wicking heavier Superk. The leading cause for dry/burny hits in these kayfun style rbas is underwicking. You can't hardly overwick one, especially with twisted winds. 28ga. twisted spaced coils are my favorite kanthal builds for the STmini rbas. I can vape 70vg at 35w with no probs by wicking chunky (heavy). Make sure the wick tails are just touching the deck and away from the juice holes. Nothing to lose, right? Give it a shot.

Those are the old horizontal coils. Yes they will work. Vertical ones are hard to find

The online sites I regularly order from (VSS, MVS, MFS, etc.) have been stocked with the new vertical coils for a while now. I greatly prefer them; the only benefit to the horizontals is that they're easier to re-wick, but with the RBA being so easy to build on that's a moot point.

Twisted pair 28g KA1 (26 twists per inch), 2.75mm id, 6 spaced wraps on 6-32 machine screw, .6ish ohms, wicked chunky with deskinned kgd.

I run these coils in my unmodified rbas at 30w on the middle afc setting with 70-75vg every day and never get dry/burnt hits. On the large afc setting 50w is hot but doable with no probs.

Thanks again to everyone. I ordered 2 boxes of the 1.2 ohm coils. These coils aren't cheap but excited to use the mini sub tanks instead of the innokin isub tank.

Just don't forget to prime them before you vape on them.

Can I just add, these Kanger vertical coils really don't need much priming at all, I found you do more harm than good, in your more likely to flood the coil than to have dry hits, all this dripping juice into the top of the coils really isn't necessary with the vertical ones. Going against what most see as the norm, I just drip a few into the juice holes and let it sit in the tank for 20 mins, do a few primer pulls, start off on a lower wattage and your good to go..

I'm betting this is why I had a bad leak issue at first
