Underwhelmd - Yep, just the 1 coil. Didn't see any need for dual coils on it. juice channels do look small, but so far no problems.

sos - I can see how the deck could loosen up, lot of parts screwed together there. I'll have to keep an eye open for that.
How much wattage are you using on that build? I'm at 16w right now, but haven't been chain vaping tonight.

Couple updates now that I've had some more time with the Subtank. Not really digging the 0.5 ohm coil. Flavor is good, but runs hotter than I care for. 1.1 ohm coil around 20 - 22w seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Vaping with the RBA deck right now. 1.4 ohm coil, 12 wraps on a 1/16th drill bit. Flavor is good, but the draw is a lot more restrictive. I don't get why Kanger would make the chimney so much narrower. Rebuilding the OCC coils may be the way to go.

For anyone using the RBA deck, what kind of build are you using?

After a few hours that I used it I changed the drip tip was getting too hot for me to handle. Just got a new battery so will be playing with the deck and coils when I find time. Right now I am using the .5 ohm. I think I want to be somewhere between the .5 and the 1.2 ohm. My custard taste wooooonderful :vapor:

You are using just one coil on the rba deck, shade7? That's all I wanted to do as well but wasn't sure...

agreed on the .5ohm occ coil being too warm. I'm at 17 watts on the 1.2 and that's fine for me.

I was looking at the two tiny channels on the rba.... open them up somehow?

I'm building single on the deck at 0.7 at 22.5 watts, not getting hot, no dry hits. I actually prefer the tighter chimney on the RBA. I was going to build some higher (1.0,1.1,1.2) so it's good to hear that it's good at those ohms as well.

Anyone else have problems with the glass? I went to refill my tank yesterday and the glass slipped right off in my hands right after I filled the tank. 6 mls of juice hit the floor, but what bums me out more is that it still seems loose. I can fit it back on, but it's not nice and tight the way it was. Any thoughts?

Mine has always fit nice and tight Have you tried a good cleaning on the whole unit?

Mine seems a bit looser than when I first got it. I rest it upside down on the drip tip to fill. Clean and dry might help as well.

Mine's still pretty tight. Maybe bad o-rings?

has anyone seen the o-rings or red gasket for the base for sale on their own yet? I'd like to have spares...

The Subtank I just got came with spares. The one I bought before Christmas didn't. I haven't seen them anywhere yet. But fasttech put up a spare coil & cotton kit for the RBA base, so I'd keep an eye on them.

Check atomizer... the old style dual coils don't work in mine. Not that it's a big deal but I was hoping to be able to use them while waiting for the real thing to get here in the mail... the reviews like pbusardo said they did work. No problem... RBA time.

So there was a video posted a while ago that showed a good simple way to rebuild these. His method works just fine.

He mentioned in his video that he didn't want to remove the top - something about others breaking or bending it or something. Well, I gave it try and it twists off pretty easily. Gripped it in one pair of pliers and twisted/pulled with the other. Easy peasy:

The only real reason I wanted the top off was to keep the cotton inside the head and give me room to fluff out the cotton around the openings. Mission accomplished. I suppose if you wanted to try to build a BVC head out of this, this would make it much easier to do that.

This is the original coil. It is pretty tightly packed with cotton. It is a 3.5mm coil:

I was shooting for 1Ω coil, so I used 26ga Kanthal, 5/4 wrap:

I used the same method as the video for securing the coil and working in the cotton, but I cut the cotton flush with the outsides and then worked it inside and fluffed it out. Worked great:

Been using it most of the day. Really good so far....
