None local to me yet but I'm starting to see Kanger branded rba coils for the lazy (like possibly myself) who don't/can't roll their own -
Kangertech Subtank RBA DIY OCC Coils 20pcs

I kinda figured they would get in on this end of the business along with this tank. Ships with the organic cotton as well so it's a convenient purchase, if you were buying cotton anyway.

I like that the OCC coils are big enough that someone with patience could rebuild them. They come apart easy.

Things I don't like-
Drip tip feels cheap, the bore is too big for that steel, wall too thin, gets hot...it's been tossed into the parts box.

So far so good. First tank got better as it went along, taste-wise. :vapor:

I did kinda the same thing when I bought mine. I got extra coils just in case I suck at making them in the beginning. I also ordered extra occ cotton coils in case I broke one when tearing it apart. I also replaced the drip tip with a longer one. I think they make it with a big diameter for ppl wanting to blow clouds and get a warmer vape.

Can't say I'm really interested in a 25mm tank. Just not a good fit for my mods. But I'm very interested in trying these coils in the Aerotank Mega. That should provide a nice vape upgrade for an older tank and I'm anxious to give them a try.

The atomizer coils will only work in the Subtank. AFIK

Correct for the final product. On the original design of the Subtank, the coils were backward compatable with the Aerotanks but they changed the design a few times before the final release and the final product you can only use the Subtank coils in the Subtank since the square design won't work the round posts on the Mega and other Aerotanks.

got my subtank, few notes:

the 0.5 coil has a tendency to dry hit and on mods that can't buck down (a lot of regulated mods) it's way too hot. You could set the thing to minimum wattage and it'll still be firing off 4 volts which is a bit too hot. (e.g. Sigelei mods, Cloupor mods)

the 1.2 ohm coil however, is sweet. vaping this thing at 20 watts and is chucking vapor. Flavor isn't as good as a fully saturated 0.5ohm coil, but still pretty good.

I may look into an IPV2S so I can buck down for the lower resistances.

What device are you running your sub tank on?

Can we get back on track with this thread? What battery is everyone running the sub tank one. Santa is being nice to me but he used the usps and they can't deliver until Saturday. I am looking into getting a new battery was hoping the mvp3 would do the job.

According to specs, the iPV mini will fire it. AFIK

My IPV Mini fires the Subtank with no issue. Another mod I'm in love with :D

IPV mini is pretty sweet actually, since you can use PWM mode to buck down on voltage! My concern with that mod is that mobile mode fires the atomizer endlessly on some of those units when activated (whether accident or not). I also heard the wattage memory settings reset when u swap battery, which is also somewhat annoying.

Mobile mode? Is that for charging an external device? Haven't used that. I can confirm that the memory settings do NOT reset on a battery change. I changed M3 to 17.5w on one and M4 to 22w on another. Have been through many battery swaps on both.

Cool, then they must've fixed the bugs then! I have a Cloupor mini on its way here, so if I didn't have that coming i'd have looked at the ipv mini again.

Not sure on mobile mode, haven't used that just yet but I'll check it out and see if it's firing up the atomizer to no end. As for the memory settings, it hasn't forgotten mine yet when changing the battery.

Just found my first quick with the Mini, but it's more of a self inflicted one, lol. Apparently I built my coil to .38 ohms on my Subtank's RBA head and the Mini wouldn't fire that one up since the resistance was too low. Threw the Subtank on my Zero SX and problem solved ;)

Couple updates now that I've had some more time with the Subtank. Not really digging the 0.5 ohm coil. Flavor is good, but runs hotter than I care for. 1.1 ohm coil around 20 - 22w seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Vaping with the RBA deck right now. 1.4 ohm coil, 12 wraps on a 1/16th drill bit. Flavor is good, but the draw is a lot more restrictive. I don't get why Kanger would make the chimney so much narrower. Rebuilding the OCC coils may be the way to go.

For anyone using the RBA deck, what kind of build are you using?

I'm using my usual Kayfun 1.3-1.4 build on 2.38mm bit with KSD cotton. Pretty nice vape, no dry hits after about 4 tanks full. It's holding its own in rotation with the kayfuns and Billow. I like a little tighter draw, however. One thing I did have a problem with was resistance fluctuation on a wild scale. It seems that the base of the build deck can loosen...so be on the lookout for that. It only happened the first time I installed it, but now I always check when I fill it to make sure it's tight.

When I say base, it's the bottom of the build deck that screws into the base that looks like the base of the stock coil.
