I ordered mine last night, from FastTech. Green, so god knows when it'll be available.

I had a dilemma as to whether to use Focal or FT, but in the end I chose FT because I'd not ordered from Focal before but I had placed my first order with FT last week. And that went beautifully well - shipped 10 hours after ordering, delivered 5 days after ordering. Must be some kind of record :)

Of course this one is pre-order so I have no idea when it will go out. And I'm crossing my fingers that FT get stock no later than Focal do - but I see no reason why Focal should receive it quicker than FT; if anything, FT is bigger I would assume and so might be higher priority.

    Now the waiting game begins!

it will be interesting to see if these have some of the 'interesting' behaviours of the heatvape which almost certainly has the same chip!
We will see won't we lol. Hopefully if thats the case since it was still in production when the invader mini came out that they'll have some issues fixed or hope to.

I've rather been assuming that those problems are specific to the Invader, and something to do with it being rugged/water resistant. Especially the needing to press five clicks to turn it on again so regularly - that's surely something to do with protection?

The previous versions of the chip, the 40W version in the Waidea and Kangxin VF flasks, didn't have those issues so it would seem odd if they were now standard to the 50W chip rather than being specific to just the Invader's implementation of it.

Right that does make sense, either way its a cheap mod and if things go wonky it hasn't made a slight dent on our pockets.

On a different note I was thinking about that silly flashlight built into the device. I have found a perfect situation to actually use it. Imagine this: Your out camping with friends and/or family and all of you decide to do some old fashion storytelling by the fire. Now you can tell those spooky stories with this flashlight on your face and you can vape at the same time, two birds with one stone! :w00t: I'll use mine for sure since I get up real early for work and won't blindingly grab my clothes for work :thumb:.

Silly? Silly?! I think it's an awesome feature! I don't have to think hard to find situations where a flashlight that's always in my hand, or near my hand, might be useful! :p :)

Or do you know something I don't? Is it known to be crap?? :)

I was thinking it would be great - no need to pull out my cell phone, find the app, then lock the screen so the light doesn't go off as soon as I accidentally brush against it. And I'd rather drain a 2500 or 3100mah 18650 than my 1100mah cell phone battery.

    Plus of course it's flashlight-shaped!

No no I didn't mean for it to sound like it was ridiculous at all lol. The camping bit was for a lil humor too. Anywho I agree completely about trying to whip out the phone for the flashlight. Not only that I think that its the first mod of its kind to have that kind of feature for a mass produced model, correct me if I'm wrong in that regard. I'm looking forward to it and I chose the gray color myself.

    :)

Yeah I am pretty sure it's the first ever flashlight mod. Certainly the first I've ever heard of. A smart selling point! I'm surprised no-one thought of it before.

    Didn't the Beyang 30W have a flashlight?

Oh yes, it did! OK so there have been several :)

But seemingly either not very successful overall, or else no-one ever talked much about their flashlights, as they don't show up in Google at all on a search for mods with flashlights (or only very low down, in the case of the E-LVT)

So could this be a flashlight curse? Is the Kangxin doomed to darkness, irrespective of its illuminating ideas? Or will this be the mod that really shines light on the concept?
