Hi all! I've been obsessed with this forum ever since I stumbled upon it, so I figured it was time to actually join and post something. :)

I was a longtime analog smoker who managed to quit cold turkey several years back. About a year and a half ago I started back up again and have been struggling to quit ever since. I re-committed last week and, faced with a social situation I knew I couldn't tackle alone, I picked up my first eGo on Friday at the only shop that was open. And I've got to say ... I'm a convert! Despite tons of folks smoking cigarettes like they were going out of style (oh wait, they *are* going out of style!), I managed to steer clear of them and stay away from my snus all weekend.

Now the cautionary tale: I picked up my starter setup (an eGo-U with one clearomizer, a charger, and a case) at the only shop that was open in the town I was visiting, which happened to be a head shop. The battery, charger, and case are all great. The clearomizer, however, started coming apart within a day. So, after a friend gifted me a bottle of juice, I went and got a second clearomizer for the new flavor. It worked great (or so I thought), but I've been noticing that it doesn't produce as much vapor as my friends' setups. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong.

Back in Dallas, now, I went to a local shop that specializes in this stuff (Good Vapes on NW Hwy). Within a matter of minutes, I found out that my clearomizer was a cheap knockoff and was already dead. I bought a new V2 (for $2 cheaper than the knockoff from the head shop), took it home, filled it up, and OMG ... it's WONDERFUL!

So the moral of this story to other newbies like me: educate yourselves and buy from trusted sources who know what they're doing. Seems like a no-brainer, but it's worth saying/writing for others who might make the same mistake as me. :2c:

Welcome to ECF. Correct me if I'm wrong, the V2 is the SmokTech Pyrex Carto tank? No? If so, I can see why you're pleased! They're great for flavor and capacity.

Thanks for the welcome!

Obsessive person that I am, I went back to the B&M to (a) get some of their juices and (b) check on what clearomizer it is that I bought. It was, indeed, a Vision ... and there was a 2 involved; but I was (obvi) wrong about it being a V2 (even though they wrote "V2" on the receipt). Based on this review thread, what I have is often mislabeled as a "V2 or version 2" but it's actually a revised version of the Stardust (v.1) that they started making with the longer wicks. The shop sells the Stardust 2s (which are rebuildable) right next to these for a dollar more.

Anyway, that's what I learned. I also grabbed the shop's mixtures of RY4 and a couple of fruity ones for the hell of it. Woohoo!!!
