Hey all, I am a 20 year old college student who recently got into vaping about 2 months ago. I am in generally good health. I diet 6 days a week, lift weights 4 days a week, don't drink/never smoked.

Some of you may frown upon non-smokers who vape but if it helps ease your mind a bit, I only smoke 0mg nic juice. I have tried a couple hits of 6-24MG juices from friends and didn't like the throat hit/feeling at all.

I really only vape because I find the activity relaxing.

Anyways, I started with 2 Joye 510 batteries with a basic atomizer/cartridge combo but after a couple days, quickly found myself wanting more. My current battery is an SLB Ego-V V2 with a Boge Cartomizer/Bud tank combo. The difference between the two setups was DRASTIC and I'm loving it so far.

Right now I only vape about .5mL a day so not much at all.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi as this forum has helped me a lot.

I know quite a few non-smoking vapers, and there's a few threads recently posted on here about the same. Nothing wrong with it, but the replies above are accurate, stay off the nicotine, it's a hell of an addiction to break, even if you don't feel addicted, it'll get you snagged quickly. I used to think I could set down my analogs any time I wanted, and I would, for months at a time, but man..I wound up back on them any time I got stressed. Since I switched to vaping I've dropped my nicotine intake drastically, but it's still there like a monkey on my back.

I will say this, there is definitely something relaxing about the hand-to-mouth motions and deep breathing associated with smoking, it chills me out even vaping zero-nic during the day (only use nic mornings and nights now), and it's a nice dietary aid in my case too. Already had an oral fixation before I picked up smoking, and now with vaping I get all sorts of flavors that let me 'snack' without the calories. It's pretty nice on both fronts, honestly.

Now, the obligatory disclaimer, be aware there's no long-term studies on the effects of inhaling PG/VG, so take that into account..but frankly if I had to guess, it's not much worse than breathing the air in most major US cities. If I may ask, could you measure that SLB eGo when you get a chance? If that's the one I'm thinking of I want to say it's a bit larger than standard eGos and has a passthrough/USB feature, was looking at buying one but I'm concerned about the size compared to my normal out-and-about eGos and the (slightly too large) Vamo I use at my desk.

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone :D

As to answer your question regarding the Ego-V. I can tell you off the bat, with my SLB Ego-V and friends Ego Twist in front of me, the Ego-V is longer/thinner, while the Ego-Twist is shorter/slightly thicker. The difference is about 1/4" an inch in terms of length.

Thanks! Didn't expect it to be thinner honestly, I'm definitely going to grab one as my primary in that case.

Just wanted to say hello and welcome from one non smoker but vaper to another, been vaping for about 2 weeks now, I enjoy it, i am not snacking during the day at all anymore and snacking less at night. it kinda relaxes me also. this is the reasons I am doing it, If yo enjoy it as i do then keep it up. As of now i see nothing bad in doing it, I started with a eGo-c 1000 battery and ce5 clearomizer, i plan to get a vamo v3 if i can get one before everyone stops selling them.

It's a great mod, I love it! I have an iTaste MVP in front of me and have been vaping with both for the day. Between the two, the performance is basically exactly the same. However, on some pulls, it feels as if the Ego-V is "smoother", it's hard to describe.

Here's a picture with my Joye 510, SLB Ego-V V2 Mega, and Innokin iTaste MVP for size comparison. Hope it helps!

Funny how equipment seems to work well for nonsmokers. If you had fits with your equipment, Evapman, would you give up easy?

Well I normally can figure things out, thanks to this site and the net most who want to fix something can, I had mine blink at me and not want to work, found out its the top batt was wet from juice, i cleaned it and blew out the clearomizer and after that it worked fine, and has every since, I clean the top of the batt. every night when i go to plug it up, so its clean for the next day. These CE5's seem to leak a little. no big deal, I am involved in few hobby's and you have regular maintenance with anything.

Welcome :D

That Ego-V V2 is the most impressive unit I've seen for the price.

I'm going to buck most people here, and say it's ok to have a little nic, if you've never smoked. Here's why: nic by itself isn't more addictive than coffee, but it is not coffee, so thread carefully. In tobacco, nic is combined with MAOIs (naturally) to make it 8 times more addictive; it's a death trap.

Congrats on almost 2 months of no analogs. I got into vaping by buying 2 Joye 510's, one of which I use, for my dad who was a pack-a-week (not much) smoker.

Like I said in my original post, I have vaped a couple hits of 6MG,12MG, and 24MG juice. I didn't feel anything besides a painful throat sensation that I didn't particularly enjoy let alone any desire to continue vaping juice with nic. Perhaps I didn't vape enough of it?

In any case, my dad has been off analogs for 2 weeks now, god bless :D Even though he didn't smoke much in the first place, I don't want there to be any reason for him not to be able to be at my college graduation, wedding, etc.

Oh that's fantastic news! After 2 weeks, it gets a lot easier. The worst is behind him.:thumb:

apologies, but i'm going to have to play devil's advocate. just to preface, i don't know how it is everywhere else, but here in socal, there's a lot of hipster-type people who've never touched a cigarette, but vape constantly because they think it looks cool. i know this isn't the case with all non-smoker vapers, but i'm sure it's shaped my opinion somewhat.

anyways, no offense intended to anyone, but i'm completely against non-smokers vaping. there are currently a lot of people and a number of powerful entities who are working to heavily regulate vaping, or ban it entirely. non-smokers who vape give them more reason to do so (hey, 14 people smoked cigarettes, but now we have 20 who vape, so we'd better get rid of this now).

20 years down the line, when everything has (hopefully) been figured out and we can (hopefully) vape in peace, fine, let non-smokers do what they want. for now, though, vaping keeps me and thousands of other ex-smokers off cigarettes. if it does get banned, non-smokers probably barely notice, and the rest of us go back to cigarettes.

again, i don't mean to offend anyone, just wanted to share my perspective.

Thoughtful words vapo. I'll play another devil sitting on the other shoulder, and suggest that being against a non-smoker vaping seems based on an assumption among us ex-smokers especially, that there will never be any new youthful smokers ever lighting up for the 1st 2nd and subsequent time ever again. We recognize with hindsight what a daft stupid thing we did, but for cool's sake or being pressed to it by our "peers" at school or the pub we did it anyway. I suspect the pressures are still similar in today's young adult environment.

And younger people of today while smarter and wiser in many ways than their predecessors, will nonetheless - and do - continue doing the same. I am happy to hear of someone opting for vaping over smoking or worse. I don't know about other folks but other much more terrible things are more readily available, probably cheaper and more prevalent of which vaping 0 mgs seems to be by far the safest at this time. There may be some crossover from hookah users too, though I've never tried that so could be ummmm....blowing smoke? Anyway there's my 2 denarii's.
