As a non smoker i am all for Smoking to be outlawed, i think all cigs should be outlawed, and should be illegal to smoke anywhere except in your home or in your car with windows up, I hate being behind someone who is smoking in the car in front of me with there windows down where i have to smell it, I however am fully for everyone to go to vaping instead. I do not know why they would outlaw vaping, but if they do, I guess we all will just be doing it illegal like doing any other things that are against the law.

I guess I can some what see smokers points but if they do get involved and tax vaping products I bet there make more money off vaping then ever did cigs cause they be more vapers, as you said 15 vaps rather then 5 smokers.

Thanks! Didn't expect it to be thinner honestly, I'm definitely going to grab one as my primary in that case.

Hey kelly I got one of the SLB Ego-V V2 Mega yesterday in my vapemail. It measures about 5.5" long including the connector. It does have a working pass-thru and puff counter though which make it worth the 18 bucks alone as a backup. The threading on it is butter smooth too.

In the instructions it came with printed by SLB it says 129mm, but it's longer then that in reality not sure why. It's rated at 1200 ohms though and I got about 400 puffs yesterday at around 2-2.3amps so that's alot of usage over 15 hours, and it still wasn't dead.

Welcome to the forums!

From a non-smoker vaper to another, all I can say is stay away from nic juices and that it is true that there hasn't been much research in long-term effects of inhaling pg/vg, but like most it just cannot be nearly as harmful as smoking analogs. I was forced to try some nic juices because one of my local stores didn't have 0 nic, and I hated it. Luckily it was a 6 ml bottle and before I finished it the online order I had with 3 juices 0 nic arrived 2 days after that. Like you I couldn't stand the throat hit even with just .6 mg. And then again, why would anyone that doesn't smoke risk getting into such addiction.

Happy vaping!

apologies, but i'm going to have to play devil's advocate. just to preface, i don't know how it is everywhere else, but here in socal, there's a lot of hipster-type people who've never touched a cigarette, but vape constantly because they think it looks cool. i know this isn't the case with all non-smoker vapers, but i'm sure it's shaped my opinion somewhat.

anyways, no offense intended to anyone, but i'm completely against non-smokers vaping. there are currently a lot of people and a number of powerful entities who are working to heavily regulate vaping, or ban it entirely. non-smokers who vape give them more reason to do so (hey, 14 people smoked cigarettes, but now we have 20 who vape, so we'd better get rid of this now).

20 years down the line, when everything has (hopefully) been figured out and we can (hopefully) vape in peace, fine, let non-smokers do what they want. for now, though, vaping keeps me and thousands of other ex-smokers off cigarettes. if it does get banned, non-smokers probably barely notice, and the rest of us go back to cigarettes.

again, i don't mean to offend anyone, just wanted to share my perspective.
Your view is flawed. You view non-smokers that start vaping as a weapon in their advantage because you shaped your opinion based on a local criteria. "14 people smoked cigarretes, but now we have 20 who vape", good, 20 people were saved from ever smoking an analog. The fact that there are people that vape without having smoked means that ecigs saved them from ever touching analogs. Ecigs could potentially not only be saving thousands of people by helping them quit analogs, but also saving thousands from ever touching one.

Welcome to the vaping community:) Well to be totally honest, after I quit smoking cigs by using vaping as a tool...it would annoy me to see non smokers picking up vaping like a trend. In my eyes, it wasn't a trend and I didn't like it going in that direction. Reason being, trends come and trends die...whereas a "tool" or "alternative" to using something that's killing you should not ever come and go.

After I got clean from the cigs and vaping became an actual hobby...it clicked. Vaping has become a hobby for many that has been the cause of bringing many people of different races, ages, ethnicities, cultures and genders together when this communicating and mingling would otherwise not occur. It's become the international language in a way. When I smoked pot...I used to call that the international language because I could travel anywhere in the world and look for some pot and find friends....regardless of whether we spoke the same language or not. We had something in common and that created a bond. I believe vaping is the same thing.

If picking up vaping as a hobby brings u to meet new people, become a member of and post in a new forum(like u have here) and have something in common to talk about with all ages, genders and nationalities..then I'm all for it.

Enjoy your new hobby and enjoy meeting new people. Welcome to the vaping community!

Vape on!

@Hulamoon & jcalis:

don't get me wrong, in the right circumstances, i agree with both of you completely. however, given the current political climate, i don't think it's necessarily a good thing to have large numbers of non-smoker vapers.

i don't think that anyone can dispute that many "authorities" want vaping not just regulated, but banned entirely. several cities/districts/counties have already banned it, and several more are trying to. look at the banners at the top of ecf - they're constantly rallying for support against someone who's trying to ban ecigs.

do i personally care if a non-smoker starts vaping? not in the slightest. it doesn't physically harm me, so live and let live.

do i trust the "authorities" to have the same attitude as you, me, and everyone else here on ecf? absolutely not. they're going to look for any possible reason to get what they want. everything on the news is already slanted against ecigs. despite the fact that they've helped thousands of people quit smoking, the authorities are outright refusing to consider classifying them as smoking cessation aids. if just as many non-smokers start vaping as ex-smokers, not only will they probably not ever be forced to, but they will make the claim that ecigs are worse than cigarettes because they're more appealing to non-smokers.

i've mentioned it twice already, but again, i'm not saying this with the intent to offend anyone. if anything, i just want people to realize what's at stake, and what we're up against. whether or not we like it, the future of electronic cigarettes is being determined now, and the deck is already stacked against us...

i really do wish i could agree with you. perhaps i'm just cynical and/or paranoid, but the last time i checked, the most profitable cash crop in the state of california is still illegal in california and in the united states. does it matter that there are millions of customers for it? or that it's been shown to have several potential medical uses? or even that the seeds are one of the healthiest foods known to man? not at all - as far as the federal government is concerned, it's one of the most dangerous substances ever to exist.

why is this the case? back in the early 1900's, certain large corporations were threatened because hemp could be used to make better products for a fraction of the cost. hemp paper is significantly more durable than wood pulp paper (the declaration of independence is actually written on it), it's cheaper to manufacture, and has a much less significant effect on the health of the environment, but it would've put large companies out of business. hemp fabric is much stronger and lasts much longer than synthetic fabrics, and also costs much less to manufacture, but it would've put large companies out of business.

right now, we are threatening to take a lot of money away from two very large and powerful industries: big tobacco and big pharma. i guarantee these guys aren't going to give up billions of dollars without a fight, and for better or worse, they have much more influence in washington than you or i.

it seems i've strayed a bit from the original topic, for which i apologize. and no, i'm not some activist hippie, i just tend to read a lot (probably too much for my own good)...

This is my first post to the Forum. I, too, have never smoked. I started vaping after I bought my husband an e-cig for his birthday. He was wanting to stop smoking. I have been a night binge-eater for a while. I usually start snacking consistently every night after dinner. I started vaping to see if it would help. IT DID! I have lost 6 lbs in 10 days. I'm not saying that this is for everyone, but I have no problems smoking my butter pecan flavor instead of nibbling on cookies all night. I don't know if it will continue, but it is very relaxing to me. I stay away from nicotine like the plague. I still would rather eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's, but the different E-juice liquids keep me happy.
