Tact is over-rated, under-appreciated, and not something to which one is entitled. And since I don't really care if I ever speak to this young man again, not necessary, IMHO. My intention was not to .....foot around with sensitivity but to be forceful and strong in my statements. It seems I hit the mark there. I wonder what you think of staying out of others' arguments. Does that involve tact?

toeknee,

Perhaps you should simply man-up, be an adult and act in a mature fashion?

Does that involve tact?

Perhaps. But since it you feel it doesn't apply to Venom, why should it apply to you?

You see? With this comment in response to yours, I have chosen not to use tact. But even if I did:

Tact is over-rated, under-appreciated, and not something to which one is entitled. And since I don't really care if I ever speak to this young man again, not necessary, IMHO.

Many of us seem to need a crutch in our little worlds. Seems those that don't smoke overeat, watch too much tv, play too many games, drink alcohol, etc. We all have something we could do without.

For some of us it was smoking, not just to be cool, but we came up in smoking households and we were addicted before we ever actually smoked on our own.
Personally, I loved to smoke- but it didn't love me. I got tired of the coughing and wheezing.

So now it's vaping. My kids were also raised with my crutch, most of them smoke.

I have one child that doesn't smoke but she wanted to vape. I discouraged it and eventually ordered no nic juice for her so she can if she wants to. She seldom does. What I caught on to she was wanting to vape when it came time for finals in her college classes. This is before I had the no nic juice.

Now what do we all know about nicotine!

It's easy for us to advise others not to do this, we know the harm we have caused ourselves; but, we also need to be real and know we can't always convince others to -not do- what we are so busy doing ourselves. We know the harm, but most people just like us, learn life's lessons the hard way.

We know there is very little evidence yet as to the actual harm vaping might cause in the long run. We also know from our own health, it's safer than analogs. In the end though; are we trading one bad thing for another?

Each person has to decide for themselves if even this -reduced- risk is really worth taking a chance with and I hope most that don't need to compromise a bad habit, will not decide to take up this habit just for the fun of it. But, on the other hand, if one knows they need a crutch occasionaly. I would rather see someone vape as to turn to drinking or some other even more dangerous crutch.

I agree with discouraging others not to take up any habit "just because". But, I also think if they know they are going to take up something, then maybe the lowest harm method is the smartest.

Just my thoughts.

So basically as the title says..I'm a non-smoker. Not for lack of wanting, but more because of the health risks involved in analog smoking. Anyways, I've been looking a lot into this whole e-cig thing, and it's really got me interested. I guess my question is, is it a dumb idea to start vaping e-cigs recreationaly?

IMHO yes.

I would be doing 0mg juice to avoid addiction and things of that nature. Any input would be appreciated.

Nicotine is not the only thing that is addicting.
There is the psychological addiction, i.e. operant and classical conditioning.

For example, you're at the hookah bar with friends. Everybody is doing the hookah thing but you. Since you don't "hookah", you really aren't as involved as everyone else. Bummer.

Next time you meet up with friends at the hookah bar, you pull out an e-cig, pv whatever, and everyone's "Oh, cool!! How's it work... yada, yada" It FEELS good showing everyone what you got.

Here's the kicker, your brain just got juiced with a ton of dopamine - very addicting "drug".

#2. Body conditioning. Combine dopamine with hand to mouth movement, you've just added on another addiction. Add that to a social situation that is pleasant, more reinforcement for the addiction.

Everybody seems to think it's all about the nicotine. It's not. It's only a part of the addiction.

It's:
Drug addiction - nicotine, dopamine
Psychological addiction
Physical addiction.
Environmental/social addicition.

That's why it's so hard for smokers to quit. That's why it's so hard for alcoholics and druggies to quit. That's why it's so hard for any addictive behavior to quit.

So, my question to you, is why would you want to start an addiction?
