Hello All,

I've been smoking cigarettes for about 12 years. I have had half an eye on e-cigarettes for the last couple years, but never got around to trying them. A few days ago I noticed a sign about them at one of the gas stations in my Iowa town of about 10K people.

I decided to give it a shot. The brand was xHale O2. The price was a total rip-off, but I couldn't resist. I think it was $60 for the starter kit. Typical cheap cartridge-based auto-battery cigarette lookalike.

The price doesn't matter to me now, because it has changed my life. Two days later I was in a larger city hoping that I would come across a Joye -- no luck, but I bought another starter kit, this time a Smokeless Delite. It had a couple more cartridge flavor choices. Not as expensive, but not any better quality.

Of course, these have served only to grow my awareness of the potential. The batteries and throat hit are weak, but I see that this will work for me. My Joye 501 PCC kit and liquids should be arriving from cignot tomorrow. I am smoking what I expect to be my final pack of cigarettes (Djarum "cigars" actually, since clove cigs were banned last year).

Not only have I been a smoker for this long, I have been a closet smoker for most of it. At 30 years old, it sucks to have to conceal my precious cigarettes from the people I love, but it is too hard to quit, and I don't have an argument to stand on. They are bad for me and my family doesn't want me to die from them. All my attempts to quite came from the justified pressure from my family.

But I feel like smoking is my best friend. How can i give that up?

Now e-cigarettes come into my life and it feels like a MIRACLE.

So - thank you all for the info on this forum. This is really a huge turning point for me.

Welcome 5th! Keep up the good work. Your PVP is now your best friend not the stinky analogs. I've been without an analog for 6 full days. I'm ashamed to say I didn't do this well when I was pregnant with my beautiful kids. They're grown now but by the grace of God they didn't suffer any effects from my stupidity! You're family will totally think you're a hero for throwing the analogs away for good.

God I know. I'm still waiting on my two month old and hoping that she doesn't suffer from smoking while I was pregnant. It worries me so at night. And I tried to quit but it seemed like everytime I did I was on the stress machine...so I gave up...I wish I had been not so blind earlier. But at least I've quit smoking stinkerettes now. Hopefully this will help me quit or at least not get her to smoke when she's older.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on quitting.

It was not until I quit smoking that I realized how bad I must have smelled when I was. Now, when i am next to someone who has just smoked I am the one saying to myself UG that stinks! Pretty weird after having been a smoker for 29 years.

(On the flip side smokers really stink...I am embarassed that I smelled that bad)

Laura, one of mine smokes and one of them hates even the smell. Go figure.

Stover, bet you are trying to get her on PV's huh. I tell everyone I see smoking about PV's. Now I can't see why they say "I just like smoking" But I remember a time I use to say that too...I feel like I haven't smoked forever and it's only been 3 days lol.

There was this guy who used to get on my train and he would literally stink up the entire car!

So far the worst smell I have had to sit next to was a woman wearing a wool coat that stunk of stale cig smoke!

3 cignot orders later...

I've been having an occasional analog - about one every three days. I don't even like them, but there is still that part of me that thinks I do.

Overall I can feel my breath getting deeper, my sense of smell and taste returning, and no more need to run errands (to smoke and then wash my hands, face, and chew gum). I can actually "smoke" before going to bed now.

18mg EcoPure English Toffee is my mainstay.

Now I'm waiting on my ZFM plugs to arrive. Does anyone happen to know where he ships those from? I hate the USPS. I am lucky that cignot is in the next state - I can reliably expect my orders from them to arrive in two days most of the time.

After my last stay in the hospital with chronic bronchitis my dtr bought me an inexpensive ecig from a tobacco shop and I puffed on it for the 2 day trip back to texas. I became a convert. Began my serious vaping with the starter kit from Greensmoke 2 part ecig and have been totally satisfied with vapor and flavor (18mg tobacco). Have decided however to purchase the Provape PV1 901 atty after watching the video reviews on this forum which are very helpful. Being a heavy user and enjoying it means to me it's time to get with the big boys and the big batteries. This forum will assist users to avoid mistakes and wasting money on inferior products; read all you can, verify and enjoy! I also suggest the reviews on all of the flavor juices and companies providing them. We learn from each other right?

A few months in now. I've got liquids, batteries, and cartridges for my 510 all over the place. I got on the Ego bandwagon about 3 weeks ago. That was a huge step - no more carrying the PCC everywhere I go. I can usually get a day of use out of it (during the week (less so during the weekend)).

Moments ago I ordered the GGTS, some 510 cartomizers, and an 18650 from vaporkings. Rob talked me into staying at 3.7v for the time being. It was probably good advice. But the versatility of the GG will allow changes as I see fit.

Now I await the introduction of the GGTS-specific AFS.

That's a really nice PV. I can't rationalize spending the $312.00 it would cost me for one of those and the AFS right now though. Maybe I'll ask Santa Clause for one. I've been a pretty good boy so far this year.

It is certainly not an inexpensive device. I've always been a bit of a sucker for machine aluminum. And while I'm partly paying to reward the innovation, I also expect that this will be the last non-consumables PV expense I have for some time, after the new AFS comes out.

Not to mention, the $7 per day I'm not spending on analogs adds up quickly.
