The taper cap looks good with a Naut mini or other 18-19 mm atty. I think the P3 flattop looks kinda goofy with smaller
tanks, but that's my opinion.
You can also get for 10-15 bucks a beauty ring for the tapered top so that 22 mm attys sit with a clean line. They will perch on top fine without it, you'll just have a funny little hiccup in the clean lines. Might be no big deal or drive you nuts depending in your aesthetics. Also, that little beauty ring will be prone to getting lost if you take your
tanks off for filling/ swapping often.
The P3 top commits you to 22mm attys depending on what you think about the looks of smaller tanks on top. It also has two more pieces to deal with. Some people have said they have had issues with the rings getting stuck on their attys rather staying on the mod. I have not had those issues. Other than the looks with small diameter toppers, the P3 allows for P3 threaded attys which are few and far between. The thing I like most about the P3 is that it is easier to clean. Instead of a small threaded hole that leaking
juice can settle into, the P3 top can be unscrewed to allow easy cleaning. That is pretty champ.
Final thought: you are more likely to find a used Provari in the classifieds with a taper top somewhere down the line.
So, unless you are firmly committed to the looks of the taper (they are great looking) or the idea of getting an old school classic, I'd go with the P3.
