Kind of upset that I'm not allowed to post in the main forums, but I guess it does keep out some of the riff-raff;)

My only experience with any e-cig to date was a cheap disposable called "mouth" sold by my local outlet, and I wasn't all that pleased with it. But with all the good reviews of vapor smoking I'm thinking this was more a matter of me buying a cheaply made product than vapor smoking just not being right for me.

The sites I have been to so far are V2, Blue Cig, and Gator Vapor.

Just from lurking the threads a bit I've found some good things said about V2, bad things about Blu, and absolutely nothing about Gator Vapor.... And nothing that pertains to my select wants.

Is gator vapor a reliable company to buy from? They are the only ones I've found selling Black N Mild flavor vapor (I smoked Blacks exclusively for a dozen years). I would like to purchase it, but the fact I cannot find info on them besides on their own website kind of worries me.

Does anyone have experience with this company? or know of a reliable supplier that sells Black N Mild flavor... or at the least a cigar type flavor like Blacks?

Thank you for any input=)

Hi tmims and welcome to ECF. I would only buy from ECF listed vendors. They operate here under a strict code of ethics and if they do not provide quality products and good service members will call them out on it. Also most of the vendors here have discount codes- anywhere from 10- 25% off. It would be helpful if you could post the brand you smoke and how many analogs per day.
Cheers, Vapoor.
P.S. yep lottsa riff raff try and disrupt this forum.

First, remember this:

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

I would look at the suppliers listed on the supplier part of the ECF forum.

For a beginner, I would suggest you look at models with a mimimum of 650 mAh batteries. They will provide warmer vapor and the batteries will last around 5 - 6 hours on a charge, unlike the mini battery types you are looking at.

The ones I will suggest are eGo type models but are better IMO than the eGo because they are true 3.7 volt models. I would look at the E-Power 510 or the Kgo 510. Stick with manual batteries for better control and safer operation. I would suggest you get some blank cartomizers to go with it and some eliquid in the 18 - 24mg nicotine range which most need to transition to vaping. Here are several reputable sites to look at:

OK. Let's see:

1) Welcome. Yup. Low riff-raff on ECF. They do a good job. Just go welcome about 4 people. Get your post count to 5.
2) Don't confuse device with juice-flavors. You can get any flavor from about 100 vendors (OK.. I exaggerate a bit but ... you get the idea).

You'll soon find that filling your own atties/cartos with juice from your favorite vendor is the best way to go (IMO).

As to device....the more it looks like a cig... the less use-time/oomph it will have. IDK about Gator Vapor... but check reviews. A good place to start is the approved vendor list on the main forum page. Several have Black N Mild.

Vaping is not smoking. No e-cig tastes 100% like a cig (or cigar). It will get you in the ball park and get you "over the hump" until you find flavors that work for you.

EDIT: You guys are fast. I thought I was the 1st poster. Clicked save.. I'm number 5. lol. So ... some repeated info.

Thank you. Perfect. Seeing as you're used to a fat cigar I would agree with wv2win and buy the E-Power. I think you'd be very pleased with it and would find it to be the perfect fit. I'd also suggest the cartos from CCV. There are highly touted, reasonably priced and are large enough that you're not constantly re filling. Best to order evrything from CCV:
Crystal Clear Vaping
Crystal Clear Vaping
The next issue will be finding a suitable juice for you.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

To Vapoor: 99% of my smoking has been by way of cigar. Black-N-Milds mostly. about a pack and a half a day, or 7-8 cigars. On the rare occasion I smoked a cigarette it was usually a Marlboro Red, but I didn't like the taste much and only smoked them as a bummed replacement for not having a cigar on me.

Welcome to ECF, this place is awesome as are most of the members , if not all. I'm new and started with an E-go kit, get some "e-juice" when you get started, I love the Boge 2ohm cartos, e-juice is a personal preference thing as is nicotine mg . There is a "ton" of helpful information here for you to "ponder" I doubt you can go wrong by following the member's reviews and info. Vaping is not smoking it is SO much better (and no doubt better for you than thousands of chemicals, carbon monoxide, and actual poisons we know are in cigs and cigars). It was one of the very best moves that I have ever made. Welcome to the smoke free world of not stinking, feeling much better and the great feeling of accomplishment. You made an excellent move already by just coming on here and asking for help, while I'm too new to be of much help, there are so many here who Can help.

Good choice but it was actually wv2win's suggestion first so credit has to go to him. The Ressurector cartos are a GREAT price and the E-Power has many loyal followers. Although it had some button issues that has now been resolved with a new button. Good Luck and just be absolutely sure to fully fill your cartos the first time. You can either use the syringe provided or drip fill until the mouth end looks like a "slushie". Be sure to re charge your batteries when they're down to about 25%- they'll last longer.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.
P.S. re: shipping- when I order from the U.S. it takes 15 days so the shipping time could be worse :)

Edit:

Def don't get the Blu, it sucks. The V2 is okay and some people seem to like it, but it's extremely overpriced so I wouldn't get that either. And I never hear of gator vapor so I would assume their ecig prob is overpriced and very basic too.
Personally I dont recommend getting a slim ecig, a bigger battery ecig would be alot better and you wouldn't have to constantly charge your batteries, but if you really feel its necessary to have it look like a cig, I'd check out the volt, halo g6, or one from vapor4life. They seem to be the ones people like the most, but it's still a slim ecig and they do have limitations. Something with a bigger battery will allow you to use low resistance and standard resistance attys and cartos. Slim ecigs can only use standard resistance. Most people prefer LR cartos bc they give a warmer vape and more throat hit(TH). Using LRs on a slim ecig will ruin the battery. I use an Epower and love it. I wasted a ton of money in the beginning on a crappy slim ecig, and then bought the Epower. Most people pretty quickly realize they don't care if it looks like a cig bc they'd rather have something that performs great. Not batteries now are 1050mah and last a day to a day and a half. It uses non-proprietary batteries like a flashlight so it's very easy to carry around a spare and pop it in if needed. It gives 100x better vape and all I use is low resistance cartos. I use the Ressurector cartos which are 1.7ohm LR which gives a great warm vape and they hold alittle over 2ml so they last a long time before needing a refill. I pop a fresh battery in in the morning and fill 2 Ressurectors and I can go to work and be good and not have to worry about running out of battery or running out of juice. The batteries are about the size of a AA but alittle longer so their small and easy to carry so i always either have a spare in my pocket or car just in case. I also carry around a small bottle of juice just in case I want to top off a carto during the day. With a slim ecig your going to need to have to charge your batteries frequently throughout the day. I also recommend checking out the Riva, and kGo too. All three are 3.7V pVs and have 510 connections which is the most popular and will allow you to use an array of attys And cartos. Alot of people also like the eGo but the eGo is only 3.3-3.4V and I prefer the 3.7V PVs. The 3.7V PVs provide alittle more oomph than an eGo and also work better with the real low resistance attys/cartos like 1.5-1.7ohm. For an eGo I don't recommend using lower than 2.0ohm bc you potentially fry the battery. Alot of eGo users use 1.5 and 1.7ohms and haven't had a problem, but many people have also fried one using 1.5ohms. That's why I prefer the 3.7Vs and I also think the give a better hit. Their all in the same price range and their also similar in size. Really any of them including the eGo would be alot better than a slim ecig. I like the kGo and Epower the most, but the Riva is also a solid PV and you can get it for a great price from LibertyFlights. All of them arnt any more expensive than a slim ecig and alot of the times their actually cheaper! Most of the slim ecigs are grossly overpriced bc the companies that sell them know that the peoe that buy them don't know any better. The kGo comes off the charged ad 4.2V and provides a great vape. It also has an 1100mah battery which will last most people at least a day. The reason I like the Epower more is bc it's the only one that uses non-proprietary batteries. The kGo, eGo, and Riva all have the battery contained inside the unit and the switch is also part of the battery. So if your switch dies or you need to replace a battery you have to replace the whole unit. With the Epower everything is seperate and can be bought individually. So if need a new switch you can replace just the switch and keep using your existing tube and battery. The Epower batteries are also alot cheaper and last longer before they need to be replaced. Epower batts cost $4-5 bucks while eGo, riva, kGo batteries cost $14-20. So that's why I really like the Epower bc it's a lot cheaper to maintain. I also hate that with the proprietary batteries you have to basically carry a second PV if you want to have a spare battery while with the Epower you can just carry a spare battery and if needed just unscrew the switch and pop in a fresh battery. That's just me though and I have plenty of friends that have kGos and Rivas and absolutely love them.
Crystal Clear Vaping also has a great deal on the Epower and you get $25 bucks in free stuff which I liked. You get a free 6-pack of Ressurector cartos, a free 30ml juice of your choice, and free shipping. Plus put in ecf5off and you get 5% off the order. I liked that bc CCV gives you everything you need to get started. The Ressurector cartos are all I use now and they work absolutely awesome on the Epower, kGo, and Riva.

I think you'd really like a Riva, kGo, Epower, or eGo alot more than a slim ecig. I know you might want your ecig to look like a cig, but i really think after you start using a bigger battery PV, you quickly will get over caring if it looks like a real cig or not.

Also I know that Crystal Clear Vaping has a black & mild juice. I got the black & mild juice as the free one when I bought my Epower. It's the first juice that I could vape all day when I started. It is very flavorful and produces crazy amounts of vapor. And they have free shipping which is nice, so you could either order a bottle of that or if you get an Epower you could get the black & mild as your free juice.

Goodluck!

Ha that took me so long to write out that by the time I finished you already decided to get an Epower! Ha sorry.
I think you will really like it though and the black&mild juice is pretty good. when I first got my Epower the b&m juice is all I vapes, I've since moved on to different juices that I vape regularly but still always keep a Ressurector filled with some b&m and vape it. I also recommend getting another 5-pack of cartos. Either another pack of Ressurectors or some Boge 2.0ohms. I prefer the Ressurectors bc they hold alot more juice but the boges work very well and you might find them alittle easier to learn how to use cartos and learn how to fill cartos properly since their smaller and hold less juice. Also if you do order some more cartos then you will get a free syringe bc CCV gives a syringe with all carto purchases and if you get a 15-pack you'll get a syringe and a free drip tip. I use that syringe to fill all my cartos. There are other ways to fill cartos but a syringe is def the fastest and it ensures they are filled correctly. The condom method and dripping into the top are also ways that cartos can be filled but it takes alot longer. The condom method isn't bad but it can be alittle messy and I don't find it works as well with XL cartos like the Ressurectors. Dripping takes the longest bc you have to let the juice settle to the bottom and with XL cartos it takes even longer. Using a syringe is very easy And You don't have to wait for the juice to settle since you fill from the bottom up. I can post detailed instructions how to fill the Ressurectors with a syringe. I think you'll find it much easier and especially with the black & mild juice bc it's thick. If you try to drip fill with the b&m juice its going to take along time bc it's 85% VG and will take Lot longer to settle. Also if you dont wait long enough drip filling you could burn the wick and filler bc it didn't settle enough and then you have a ruined carto.

If you dont want to buy a 15-pack to start since you haven't tried them yet I would buy a drip tip then. I wouldn't fill a carto with a juice you haven't tried bc then if you dont like it you waste a carto. If you get a drip tip then you can direct drip to taste the juices. That's why it would be good to get a drip tip bc you can drip some juice directly into the atty and put the drip tip on and test the flavors to see what you like. That's the only thing I use the 2 attys that come with he Epower for. You get 5 Prefilled cartridges you can use on the atty but I didn't even use them bc I've tried them before when my buddy got his Epower and I think their nasty. Plus I think cartridges suck and they be very inconsistent. Cartos hit alot better and are less of a hassle and also alot more consistant. You can also use a drip tip on a carto as a mouthpiece. Just take off the white rubber cap and put the drip tip on. I think their alot more comfortable that way and it makes it easy to tell what juice is in a carto. If your vaping a few different juices at once, especially in the beginning when your trying to find what you like, it can get confusing what is in each carto. When I first got mine I also ordered some sample packs from BlueMist Vapor (which i recommend you check out bc their cheap and have a huge selection) and had like 4 or 5 cartos a filled with different juices that I liked. I has to keep putting one on the battery and taking a hit to figure out what it was. Now what I do is put a different colored drip tip on and it makes it very easy to know what's in one. I don't vape as many juices at once now, but I still normally have 3 different juices in cartos that I carry around with me and vape whichever one I'm in the mood for throughout the day. I order all my cartos from CCV and get a 15-pack of Ressurectors Everytime. Then I pick a different colored drip tip that I don't already have. I find that's the best way to get a few drip tips bc it's free then I put a different color on each carto so I know what's in it.
If your just buying one I check out the Big Belly drip tips. I really like them and they look great on a Ressurector and the Epower. Unfortunately you can't get one of them As the free one when you buy cartos, but you can buy one for a few bucks. They are comfortable on your lips and don't fall off the carto when it's in your pocket, like some other drip tips do.

Goodluck with everything and i think you'll really love your Epower!
