Hey everyone!
Me and a friend went out last night and bought some E-cigs from a head shop around the corner from us. They are called Randy's electric cigarette. The package game with little to no information about the cigs and the only information I could find on them was from a friend who says they are great. So far so good i guess I usually smoke about a pack a day today w/ my e-cig i managed to only smoke 4 cigs and still on my first cart from last night.
But the problem lies in the fact that we don't know anything about E-cigs. I've managed to dig up a lot of information but I do have some very important questions that hopefully my fellow vapor smoking friends here at the forums might be able to answer. I've looked online and I notice that the e-cigs we bought look like the ones people call "Super mini". But the actual box that they came in and the actual cig have no information telling me the part number or type on them. I would like to find a website online where we could buy refills for this cig but I have no info on it. The local store sells 10 cart's for $25, is this a good deal? Could I possibly find them cheaper online?
later tonight I will update my post w/ some pics of the e-cig and the box but maybe someone here has smoked this cig. If so please feel free to give me your thoughts on it. I'll just finish this post w/ an overview of some questions we have and hopefully I posted in the correct forum. If I didn't I apologize for the mistake and I'm sorry for all the writing!

1. Have you ever heard of Randy's electric cigarettes?
2. My cig looks like the cig that people call a "Super mini" how would I find the part number to confirm this is the type of cig I have so I can buy cart refills online?
3. Is $25 a good price for 10 cart refills at a local store?
4. Is the only way to tell when the cart is empty is when no smoke comes out?
5. I noticed if i tapped the cart insert out a little I could smoke more. Will I burn out my atomizer this way?
6. How can I tell if my cig is able to use one of these carts that have atomizers connected to them?
7. Would I be able to fill my own carts using the "Pyramid Tea Bag" method on this specific E-cig?

I'm dying to post these pics of my cigs to see if i can get some information on them. I'll have to wait a few days till I get my posts up. -sorry

1. Have you ever heard of Randy's electric cigarettes?

No

2. My cig looks like the cig that people call a "Super mini" how would I find the part number to confirm this is the type of cig I have so I can buy cart refills online?

It is but finding the exact model would be hard to nail down.

3. Is $25 a good price for 10 cart refills at a local store?

No!! $10 tops.

4. Is the only way to tell when the cart is empty is when no smoke comes out?

That is one thing it could be. You could also have a flooded atomizer, battery needs recharging, etc.

5. I noticed if i tapped the cart insert out a little I could smoke more. Will I burn out my atomizer this way?

It shouldn't.

6. How can I tell if my cig is able to use one of these carts that have atomizers connected to them?

You'd have to know the exact model of your ecig and then check a compatibility chart or just ask here.

7. Would I be able to fill my own carts using the "Pyramid Tea Bag" method on this specific E-cig?

You can fill your own carts now if you have the ejuice. But yeah, you could use the 'PTB cart mod'. Not sure how big the cartridges are. Some superminis aren't really worth using some cart mods.

I'm dying to post these pics of my cigs to see if i can get some information on them. I'll have to wait a few days till I get my posts up. -sorry.

jayquick, Those look like the same ones I bought first. It was a M 401 clone that was sold under the brand name "Health-e-Cigarette" and it took me two days to realize that I needed something better. They have the open atomizer with the wick exposed and a plastic cart with a tiny plastic cup inside that only holds a couple drops of liquid. Right?
The auto batteries on the one I had didn't work very well and one died completely in less than a day.
When you decide that these aren't working well enough for you I suggest you visit a decent online vender such as Welcome to MadVapes LLC and look at some of the kits that they offer. You'll find that the better ecig kits bought at places like this are often much less expensive than the not-so-good kits sold at smokeshops, headsops and mall kiosks.
Oh yeah, and when you order a better kit I suggest you get one with a manual battery. They have a button you push to activate them. It's less like smoking a regular cigarette but they are much less troublesome than the auto batteries.

How does one know what the right one is?

I suppose the best way to know what to start out with is to benefit from the experience of others who have made mistakes and found solutions.
I will list some of the websites that I have had a good experience buying from and the ecig models I have found to be good ones.
For Joye 510 model (most popular) or DSE 901 model (my personal fave) I like Welcome to MadVapes LLC . Another good vender for the 510 is Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.
Another good quality ecig that is used by many people on the forum is the kr8-08D-1. A good place to find a decent deal on these is KR808D-1 2 piece e-Cigarette
These are the models I have personally used and they all have their individual merits. The 510 is a good vapor producer and can either be used with an atomizer/cartridge setup or the 510 cartomizer (a cart with a built in atty) which holds more juice and needs less refilling.
The DSE 901 is great at producing rich flavor and does well at producing vapor.
The kr808 is a 2- piece unit that only uses cartomizers but has a better stock battery than either the 510 or 901.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. Does anyone here use the Joye 510? I'm looking at some vids of these online and it looks like it would hold much more juice than the current ecig that my friend and I use. Also I think we would like the Manual button push for our next ecig's. Great help in these posts also, I'm glad I didn't buy those 10 carts for $25 dollars. Can't wait to check out some more flavors.

Yep, health-e cig, I started w/ those also. Bougnt from a local tobacco shop. Mine worked good for a month and then both batts died suddenly. The carts are same as reg size 401s. I now use 401s w/ the XL carts and they work great. I do have my eye on an Ego or Reva though.

Jay and Mistin, I bet, like me, yall payed allot for those. To bad small retailers are selling that stuff when they could sell the good stuff for much less. Someone is doing a smooth sales job on the small retailers. :~(

Yeah, The problem is people recommend them the second they get them not realizing that they are so many better cheaper products out there. I wish I took it upon myself to do some research ahead of time instead of going blind by someone's recommendation. But it's a mistake I (and my other friend) will learn from. Now it's time to step it up and get a great e-cig that we can fill for cheap on our own :) let the search begin.

The Joye 510 is the most popular model here.

Starting kit for $35 best price on an actual Joye (which is best):
Joye 510 NO BOX

The Joye 510 atomizer is the lowest ohm atomizer than the other popular models and therefore for the most part - more vapor.

The Joye 510 battery lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before needing recharging so one either has to get a PCC - personal charging - case that allows you to charge on the go:

Joye 510 with PCC

...or have a few more batteries that come with the starter kit. So what people are drawn to is longer lasting batteries:

-510 mega batteries gives you 2x the time of the regular batt.

Joye 510 Extended Life Battery - Manual Blue

- eGo batteries - gives you 6-6.5 hours before recharging.

Joye eGo Battery - Black

That needs a charger and a cone:

Joye eGo USB Charger
eGo atomizer cover

Or you could start with an eGo kit:
Joye eGo

There are other vendors - the eGo is also known as the Tornado and the Riva is compatible with both of them. I used cignot since they have everything listed and are a good vendor, fast shipper.

Yep,
We got screwed big time. But that's alright we both like to vape now so it won't make a difference. Pretty sure I'm going to go w/ the Joye eGo. It just looks fantastic. I ordered some carts from goodprophets website for our super mini's so when those are gone I figure I'll go ahead and get the Joye eGo maniac kit from them. Has anyone here ever used good Prophets .com?

Edit....

The kit is just Wow!

Kit Includes:

2 Joye510 atomizer with 2-holes
2 covers for eGo
2 650mAh Manual battery with white LED
1 USB FAST charger for eGo
1 USB to WALL adapter
1 510-to-901/KR808D-1 adapter
1 Empty 808 Carto
2 metal Drip Tips - one of each style
1 Carry Pouch
1 Instruction Manual
5 pcs prefilled cartridges
MLB flavor, 2 high, 1 med, 1 low, 1 none

$89.99
