Hey Guys,

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll sum up my findings here:

1) Yes it shows empty with and without the tank.
2) Yes all full batteries (the old and the new ones I bought) show empty, and I am 100% sure they are charged.
3) Yes, I have cleaned the contact spring as well, cleaned just about every part with a qtip and isopropyl,
4) I have a production P3.
5) I just tried stretching the spring out a bit, with no effect.
6) I will head over and create a ticket with provape asap. Thanks for the heads up :)

Also, I failed to mention before and it may be a critical sign via programming. But when the battery first makes contact, the LED on the side cycles through all the different colors, then stops and flashes red continuously. LED always says empty, 0 voltage, 0 ohms, 10 watts.

Thanks again to everyone for your insight and help. I really appreciate it.

Cheers,
eBaked

Thanks for the forum link, i will read and see if I can find a solution in there.

The led is supposed to cycle through all the colors, but it's not supposed to stop and blink red continuously. Yes, please open a ticket with Provape. I think you'll be amazed at the incredibly high level of customer service. I wrote a question one night at 9:00 PM. I got an answer almost immediately. I was surprised, but I shouldn't have been.

Oh, and we'll see you in the Provape thread. It's filled with terrific people.

A ticket is what I recommend now. I haven't heard of that problem before and it sounds like more than a connection issue. I would think if it was just the connection, when you put a new battery in it wouldn't do anything.

I was having a bit of an issue with the battery percentage readout not being accurate, but it turns out it was due to the coil on my Kayfun being old and wonky. Once I replaced the coil, everything was fine. And this is not your issue.

However, I do know that some people required a new spring/endcap for a similar issue, so I believe all you can do at this point is contact ProVape. There customer support is good and they will help you to resolve your problem.

Even though you have a ticket open, check your battery voltages. The P3 will cycle the button colors indicating battery contact made so I have a feeling its not the P3 but your charger. A full batt should read right around 4.2 volts at 3.3-3.5 v the P3 sees it as empty. Since its happening on all your batteries it has to be the charger or the P3. I'm leaning more toward the charger not charging even though it says the batts are full. I had a similar issue with my P3 but it turned out my charger was the culprit. Just another thing to check off while you deal with provape.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the other responses.

I am an electrician by trade and have a multi-meter at home so i took all four batteries and independently tested the DC, they all checked out.

I also re-cleaned the suggested parts of the P3 and batteries. Had no effect.

Still have not heard back from my earlier submitted ticket, time will tell. Thanks again!

As has been said, ProVape can be surprising with how quickly they respond to questions; however, it is after 9PM on December 21st and I think a response tomorrow is more likely.

The wise Ocelot is right. Unless you own a Provari you will never know what excellent customer is. I opened a ticket asking a question about the P3 and had a email response a few hours later. Two days later I receive a email asking me to rate the service I received from Provape. One of the very few mods not cloned simply because you can't clone high quality and fast and quick customer service.

Hey Everyone,

Quick update, I have been speaking to Kim over at pro-vape and everyone from the pro-vape community is right. Exceptional customer service.

At first it was suggested I check the following things.

1) That the version of my device was V36. Which it is. Apparently they have had some issues previously with the V34. Which they corrected in V36.
2) That the IQ, being a representation of the internal connection quality was of an acceptable level. Which it was at 99 "great".
3) To re-check the cleanliness of all the threaded components of the device. Which I re-checked, cleaned again, and then tested. No effect.

At this point Kim is fairly confident that it is an issue with the end cap and spring, which also, they have re-designed and improved with a new version. I have provided my shipping information and should receive a new one in the mail in the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately I head up to Ft. McMurray tomorrow for a 14 day shift. But once I am home and have picked up the new end cap and spring I will report as to whether or not this solved the issue.

Cheers, and thanks again to everyone for the advice.

Glad to hear the good folks at Provape have been responsible. No matter what they'll make you happy you invested in a Provari. Yes they will!

Now you've hit the magical number to come join the family in the Provape Forum. We look forward to seeing you there!

I have the same issue. Overnight it just drains from like 50%

Hey Junny,

Not too sure if we are experiencing the same thing. Mine will not even register 50%. I can put in brand new batteries, fully charged, and it just reads them as empty, Yours could be as simple as any of the things mentioned above, or maybe you need a new end cap as well. I am quite sure that your issue sounds similar to what Kim mentioned in the email, and that you should check your version and IQ first. From there she told me that the version should be 36 (they've had issues with the V34's) and then ensure your IQ is at a high level. Once we get to the bottom of what is going on with mine, I will post a detailed overview for anyone experiencing the same issues. Hope it gets better!

Cheers,
eBaked

I too own a P3 and recently discovered that Fake Counterfeit Cheap Chinese Copies of AW Batteries will cause problems too.

To the OP, You are on the right path to correcting your issue, Congrats and Welcome Aboard.

To all others... Watch out for crap batteries, and also other non Provi owning members. (they can be just as bad as knockoff batteries)

Jim
