So Cal
just want to introduce myself to the community. my name is Phil and i have been vaping about a month now. i was a smoker for five years and so desperately wanted to quit. health concerns aside "it" really didn't hit home until i used a cigarette savings calculator. as with many, i started with the unsatisfying e cigs sold at convenience and tobacco shops. let down with that experience i instinctively i knew there had to be a more satisfying alternative. i then purchased an ego t(i am laughing along as well). as sub par as that was it did help tremendously during the initial weeks.
i started researching the e cig world on the computer. i spent many hours on numerous sites researching my options and which sites offered the most information without the attitude. armed with information i made my first real purchase, a provari mini with glass tank. it was an absolute revelation. i felt as if i was totally satisfied with my vaping. initially i was satisfied. shortly thereafter i discovered that no matter what i could always taste the filler in cartos, every brand, every method of prep, and every juice. enter vivi nova. tried the rebuilds and could still taste faint traces of flavor that wicks, silica, cotton, hemp etc impart.
i then looked at rbas as my last hope. i did not want a low quality unit that required time consuming modifications to function as intended. i went straight for the Gemini from MMV. i can now say that i am totally satisfied with my vaping. i have found the purest taste i have been looking for. i could not be more excited.
i am so happy to not smell of cigarettes anymore. incidentally i purchased 2 more Provaris', one for the wife and one for the mother-in-law. both have been cig free for weeks now. thanks for all the help ECF.

Welcome to ECF , Phil and good for you . You as well as most people on this forum have gone through the same steps , in finding an ideal vape . A lot of us have more than a few devices , and things to put on them , such as cart's , carto tanks , atty's , atty tanks , Vivi-Novas , Genisis , line' , and the list goes on and on . Even then , we still went through , or are still looking for that all day juice . Some have found it , some have not . I had to go to DIY , to finally get what I was looking for . So good luck , and enjoy your stay . Also , congrats for you getting both your wife and your MIL off the ciggie's , and onto the E-cig s .

Welcome Phil! In reading your story I found similarities in mine. I started vaping in 2009 and my first mod was a Screwdriver. I quickly reverted back to analogs as i was not satisfied with the performance of 901 atomizers at that time.

fast forward to this past May. i started to look into e-cigs again just to see if any advancements had been made since i quit vaping. and oh how my mind was blown! whereas before the screwdriver was considered one of the most sought after mods a few years back, we now have the a multitude of mods, PVs, atomizers, and accessories that are really advancing the science and art of vaping to a whole new level. i'm grateful to be a part of it!

i'm also now an exclusive genesis atomizer user. I have the DiD from MMVapors but also the AC9 from Vapinaze.com. both are great products!

anyway, welcome again phil and keep on vaping!

Welcome to ECF, and good luck on your search for that perfect vape. I've had the best luck with my VAMO mod and a Kanger T3. If you don't like the taste of cartos, then clearos are likely the way to go. For me, bottom coils like the T3 are great, as they don't have the wicking issues the top coils do. Just my $.02, as what works for me won't be for everybody.
