You're welcome. I'm too happy with my tanks so I really can't comment on Clearomizers ecept that you can't lay them down otherwise they'll leak. When you get the carto you'll prolly find a white silicone cap/ insert in the mouth end- gently remove this and fill with the condom method.
Does top fill dripping and allowing the cardo time to soak not accomplish the same thing?
It takes a long long time for gravity to do its job. You could also use the Taryn Spin- remember to put a condom on the battery end otherwsie juices spurts out

For the Taryn Spin I bought a $2.00 Oral Med Dispenser from Walmart- comes handy for a bunch of ecig stuff

Good Luck.

Thx again, vapoor. So that's what all this condom talk is about. I was beginning to wonder and despair just a bit, realizing that my medicine cabinet isn't fully stocked at the moment. Actually this looks potentially messy with my particular fumbling fingers. Does top fill dripping and allowing the cardo time to soak not accomplish the same thing?
The Volt XL cardo's I ordered are black so I doubt I will be able to see 'slush.' But I'll experiment and certainly give the condom method a try along the way. I'll likely have to put the dog away and get my scuba gear on first i suppose, knowing me.
On another note, I ordered both the XL cardos and X2 Clearomizers from Volt. Which to try first as my virgin vape experience? I'd really like this to be as pleasant as possible but not so much that I'll be tempted to smoke an analog afterwards.

It's not even remotely close to what I use, and I have never even tried any of this equipment, but...

What you ordered is almost exactly what I recently recommended to someone who wanted to start vaping.
:)

Those X2 batteries are regulated at 3.6volts which means they are better than the Ego batteries.
And those Volt cartomizers are possibly the best around.

And you got one manual and one automatic battery too so you can see which one you prefer.
Well done!

Let us know how it goes...

Well that's certainly appreciated coming from someone with such seniority here, ty. I'm most curious about your present setup, if you wouldn't mind sharing, just to further understand how equipment and use can evolve for some, particularly the more experienced. I do realize this path is subject to individual preferences and tastes.

Again, very helpful Vapoor. I see now that if done correctly these methods can yield excellent results. I hear you about Provaris and tanks and was initially tempted to skip all the evolutionary steps and go this route directly. But I chickened out because of the costs involved, just in case this didn't work out for me. I figured that if I did eventually get to the top tier vaping toys, the X2 setup would serve very nicely as a back-up units.

One day you'll pass it on whether it's here or out in the real world with friends and family. Regardless of whether or not you had decided on a PV you would always need a backup. If I didn't have my P I'd certainly have a 3.7 V. Take your time, research and decide. I've bought everything on sale at great discounts...wait and pounce is my motto...many, many impulse buyers out there.
Cheers and Good Luck.
P.S. you'll do fine...I had NO problems at all except the first 2 cartos I burnt out because I didn't properly fill them. Just remember it's only: juice in a delivery device (carto, cartridge, tank, clearomizer), an element and a battery.

Yes, indeed, individual preferences for sure, and my setup is not something that would suit very many people.

First of all, I hate cartomizers, so I only use atomizers and I drip exclusively.
Some people find dripping to be a pain, but I find filling cartomizers to be a pain.

Also, I like the way the dripping ritual replaces the lighting a cigarette ritual, and find it to be part of what I like about vaping.

I use Big Chucks, which generally take 18650 batteries, but I don't use those.
I use the 4.8v NiMH batteries that you can get from quite a few vendors these days.

The upside is that they vape at a lot higher voltage, but the downside is that they are only 600mah.
I am not a heavy vaper, going through less than 2ml per day, so the 600mah batteries last me all day long.

So I have evolved a system that works perfectly for me, but I've been doing this for almost 3 years now.

Vapoor, DC2, SoUnique, I'm most obliged for your efforts in sharing this info with me; I find all of it very helpful. I have in fact also visited the Canadian forum and am further encouraged by its activity. My Canadian vendors list is now securely filed for repeated reference.

It is clear to me that ECF is a first class community with terrific people willing to help others in a very special way...effectively assisting in saving lives. It's exciting to anticipate how further technological improvements might continue to improve this march from the evil that is tobacco.

Good morning fuzzione.
On another note, I ordered both the XL cardos
If they're the XL cartos I thinking of they take approx 60 drops to first fill.

Is there a reason that you went with volt over other brands? I know a lot of people seem to like their product but I wasn't sure if you had some personal experience with them. They seem like the most cost effective starter kit with decent ratings.

I haven't had a single vape yet. My equipment selection followed considerable research on these forums but I really have no clue whether this is right for me or not. Many here believe that the more it looks like a cigarette the more it does not perform like one so I opted not to buy the typical Volt starter kit. Instead I went with a couple of their new larger X2 batteries and cartridges. I felt that minimizing the effort required to get started while still getting a good hit was the way to maximize my chances of taking to this hobby and sticking to it. While tempted to simply lay out the cash and start off with the best equipment (I actually had a Provari V2 in my cart), I changed my mind at the last second and opted for the above setup due to costs and uncertainty. Effectively, this specific equipment purchase represented the most balanced alternative for me, based on my research. Time will tell. Good luck!
