Ok so I have filled my dang cart up and started to "check out" about 5x in the last 2 hrs with different ECigs. I am asking your assistance please....

I currently smoke 1 pack a day of Marlboro lights. I want something that I can vape on all day, maybe a few drags every hour. I don't want too much nicotine and get sick but I also want something that will make me happy if I am giving up cigarettes.
I don't care if the end lights up or if it's pink or looks like a cigarette, I just want something that will keep me from nic fitting and happy.

I had this one in mind, Joye Ego from litecigusa.net in my shopping cart multiple times this morning, but could not bring myself to purchase it without hearing from you all first.
I was going to buy the silver starter kit.
I read another thread on here though that you should just buy 2mega batteries, 2 atomizers etc.... instead of a starter kit...
Ugh..and what the heck is the difference between a Cartridge and Cartomizer... ??????

LOL....Help me please !! I want to buy something today.
Oh and there is only one choice locally for me to buy a ECig, it's a starter kit called "Phoenix" and it's $79.99 I think it's a 510. I don't care about price so much as getting the best price on what I finally pick out and making sure I am happy with my purchase.

Thanks, hope to hear from you all !! :)

Liberty Flights has a Riva 510 for $30 with the 20% off and sell liquids and extra atty's as well. It will last you all day and then some if you are a light smoker. I would suggest several small 5 ml bottles of flavors in different mg 24,18,16, and 12 so you can find what level you need to get off analogs. They also carry the Ego tanks and carts they do fit my Riva if you want to try them, they hold more liquid and less hassle. Good luck on your journey.

Welcome to the ECF. You have come to the right place for information. First thing I recommend is that you read this guide to e-cigs here The Wonderful World of Vaping | Vaping Guides. Then when you are ready to order, check out these suppliers/vendors that many ECF members like: Forum Suppliers List. I Hope this helps you. Again, Welcome to the ECF and Happy Vaping!!
BTW, I ordered the Provape1 from ProVape Electronic Cigarette Battery Mods, Atomizers and E-Cigarette Accessories and could not have been happier.

DON'T get the local one for $79.99, whatever you do.

I have the eGo and like it a lot because the battery is strong and lasts about 6 hours with regular use. The other thing I like about it is that it's not limited to just carts or just cartomizers, here are some different ways you can use it:

* cart/atty: fiddly, must constantly be topping off with juice, slightly messy
* cartomizer: a cart with a built in atty, relatively disposable, not messy, have to keep buying replacements
* drip tip: can be messy, flavor is good, super-easy
* tank system: supposed to be the best way so far they say, not messy, not fiddly, rarely have to mess with it
* clearomizer: a combination between the cartomizer and the tank

The usual eGo kit comes with the cart/atty system, so if you get that (which I do recommend) then you should also get a box of 510 cartomizers and a drip tip to try. That way you will have tried 3 different systems and have a better idea of what you need to make you happy.

Good luck!

ps: OR you could get the eGo-T kit (the tank system) and add a standard 510 atomizer, a 5pk of cartridges, cartomizers and a drip tip.. then you could try it 4 ways.

WHATEVER YOU DO you'll want to get juice, about 60mL of assorted juice flavors in the smallest size you can get, ranging from 12mg to 24mg (but mostly 18-24mg).

Oh my goodness, such great answers, but I am even more confused. lol

I have read and read and researched and researched, scoured this forum for over 2 weeks now and I am even more confused. I have watched some of the videos.

I don't like the idea of messing with juices and getting nicotine on my hands so maybe the tank system is the way for me to go.... and suggestions on the best Tank ones ? Joye Ego makes a tank Rosa ?

If you really only plan to drag a few drags every hour then you don't need an Ego. And you smoke lights so you probably don't need the harder hits an Ego can provide. I was a lights smoker and I am fine on Joye Mega and KR808D-1

2-piece configuration = battery + cartomizer (carto, a cart and atomizer in one)
3-piece configuration = battery + atomizer + cartridge (cart)

510 mega - I recommend manual batteries. The autos are open on the end for the drag sensors so they can be killed by juice leaks. Manuals give a more consistent hit and are less work. I recommend you also try cartomizers on it - these are supposed to be good blanks. I just bought some too. (and for future reference I also like the standard Joye 306 atty + Joye 306 carts on a 510 for something different)
510 Blank Cartomizers

How many hours do you need between charges? They are 280mah - possible it could last all day if the battery was fresh at the start of the day and you only drag a few times every hour. I actually keep a charger at work but there is also a PCC for the megas so you could be charging one in your pocket or purse while using the other. if it is critical that you have one battery only and no PCC and it last all day, then get the Ego, Vgo, etc.

I recommend buying some juice with your order - probably centered around 16-18mg with a small amount of 10-12 and a small amount of 24 (if you get the same flavor in those last two and don't need them, you could always mix them to get around 16-18.

Well I usually slip outside for a smoke about every hour at work and about the same when I am home, so I am guessing what I would do when vaping. I am at work for 8hrs of the day but could charge batteries at my desk if needed.
Maybe I don't need the expensive Ego tank ones, maybe I would have happy with just prefilled cartridges, I don't know..... I just know I have seen a lot of people on here wish they had gone with a Ego once they have been vaping for a few months and so I was just trying to eliminate that step.

My only concern with this is the OP smokes a pack a day, and usually people vape more than they smoked - especially in the first few months.

I think you should do this one:

You already have the eGo in your shopping cart, just add a box of 510 cartomizers (pre-filled or blanks, either way) and a cheap drip tip. Also, get some juice and give that stuff a try. Almost no one gets exactly what they want the first time out, you just have to try it to find out what you like - you have to start somewhere.

The bad news is that your first couple of months of vaping can end up kind of expensive, the good news is that you can make all that money up later with the money you save by not buying smokes anymore. Vaping can be less expensive if you find a system that works for you but you have to experiment first.

I did the same thing last week, and after reading on this forum I went with the joye ego from libertyflights.com they had the starter kit with 2 complete sets for $39.99 on sale with the 20% off (click the box top left corner of the page). I think they are still running that sale, and let me tell you I am very happy with my decision. The price can't be beat and shipping is only $2.99! I was 1 p.a.d. smoker for about 13 years and my last one was last Fri at 5pm and haven't gone back. I do recommend you get some 24mg juice for those morning and after meal cigs though or when you are really jonesing, really helped me with those cravings! I would also suggest getting an extra atomizer so you have one just in case. What's nice about having 2 sets is you will always have one charged or in my case I always have a 24 mg in 1 and use the other one for all different juices in case I start jonesing for an analog. And yes keep reading on this forum cuz there is a wealth of information available to you.....good luck!

Edit: just checked they are still running the sale!....

510 mega - I recommend manual batteries.

For giggles during my first few days of owning a 510 Mega I tried to see how long I could get out of it. I started with a fresh battery at 3am and was still going 8 hours later. Now, I could be the exception there is that possibility, but I've also tried vaping nonstop with it. I'd usually stop from too much vape before the batteries ever ran out. I still average around that and was a 1/2 to 1 PPD @ 18 - 24mg or mixed strength.

Prefilled carts don't last very long. If you want something that will really hold its charge all day including the ride to work and home try the Ego and cartos - someone else could tell you if you need a 510 extender (MadVapes.com in the adapters) to get the carto high enough above the cowl of the Ego. Or you use could the atty and bring multiple carts or juice with you. Pretty sure once you get the Ego somebody will say "well don't use the carts and atty! Use cartomizers." so get some. But it's good to have atty+carts for when you are out of cartos want to use a drip tip on the atty etc.

I can say that within the two weeks I've been vaping I have used my e-cig more than I would've smoked analogs. I have a 3 piece system(battery+atty+prefilled cartridges). I have gone through 14 cartridges in 2 weeks. Some may say this is good, I on the other hand, had hoped the cartridges would stretch a bit further. I have slowed down on my vaping since the first few days I began.
I am currently looking at buying a 2 piece system. Because I've noticed my cartridges drying out. Good luck on your search.

Rosa, thanks for your help today !!
Ok so if I go to Liberty Flights, get the starter pack with the 2 sets in it for the Joye Ego, then what else do I need. I guess I don't understand why I need drip tips and another atomizer and cart/atty ( i am laughing here cause I don't get it) I suppose it's like anything else, you NEED to experience it first before you figure out what you want/need....

Drip tips make it easy to, instead of using a cart, just add a couple of drops of juice directly into the atomizer. You can get about 10 drags off of it before you need to add more drips. It's pretty easy to do:

YouTube - Cartomizer - Cartridge - Drip Tip & The Difference

FYI: this video also shows the difference between atomizer/cart combo, cartomizer, and drip tip.

While I am not nearly as knowledgeable as some of the members here. I am a newbie and went through exactly what you are going through now.

I did all my research and ordered the KR808D-1. I'm happy with it, don't get me wrong, but the cartos can be a bit of a pain sometimes. Making sure they're filled properly and kept topped off so you don't get that nasty burning taste in your mouth are two of the biggest concerns and problems I've had.

As for my smoking habits. I honestly only smoked about 5 cigarettes a day... tops. I am vaping almost constantly. So my vaping as tripled or even quadrupled my smoking. :vapor:

In the last week I have been reading all about the Ego-T and how everyone raves how simple it is. So I ordered one on Monday (and with the Snowpocolypse it's not here yet). I'm hoping the Tank system will allow me to not fiddle with cartos so much.

My advice? I can't really offer anything substantial, because I haven't actually received the tank yet. But maybe MY story will help push you in one direction or the other.
