Hi All, new (as of now) to this site and on my 10th day of no cigs. Climbing up the walls. Really down today as i've spent the last 10 days doing way more exercise than normal, not smoked anything other than my new e-cig and have gained lbs. Know i'm doing the right thing but this makes it even harder to stay strong... Any advice gratefully received!

Hi there, i am using LogicPro e-cig with 18mg 1.6ml capsules. First 6 days were great. Day 7 and today were/are HELL, pure HELL but i know i do not want to revert to cigarettes. The weight gain in such a short time has also freaked me out and am trying not to let myself use that as an excuse to go and buy a pack - hence finding this site - thank goodness!

Do you feel like your getting enough nicotine? Also, not knowing your health status, many here, including myself, have duel used (smoking and vaping at the same time) to cut down on cigarettes until they depend on the vape alone. Hate to see you putting yourself through such turmoil. Maybe you should have a smoke (not as much as you usually do) and vape until your more comfortable. Again, I don't know your situation and can only suggest what has worked for me.

Hi - think if i smoked 1 i would be back to square 1! Have tried many times over the years to quit - hypnotherapy, nrt, Allen Carr sessions, etc. I suffer from HBP & HDL and am on Beta Blockers and Statins so am not able to try the meds that help. This HAS so far been a success BUT i need to work out how to maintain it :)

Welcome aboard. 18mg/ml might not be enough, but then again, it might be. I have heard here that WTA (Whole Tobacco Alkaloid) e-liquid has helped some people who had difficulties with regular e-juices.

I've never used whatever setup you have (never even heard of it to be honest) but it Definitely sounds like you aren't getting the nicotine you need...

    Try a 24 or 36 mg ejuice...

Welcome! Sorry you are having such a hard time. I was a long time hardcore smoker who began vaping in August. I vaped at 24mg of nicotine from the beginning. I was initially happy that I was able to cut my cigarette consumption in half. Over the ensuing months I continued to dual use, but gradually vaping began to supersede smoking. I still smoke occasionally but now I have as many smoke free days as days on which I smoke (never more than two).

I will say that I never experienced physical withdrawal symptoms (psychological withdrawal is a different matter entirely). Of course, we all take different paths but I definitely concur with those who are saying up the nicotine. I also found WTA and NET liquids very helpful and still use them exclusively. I just began transitioning to 18mg after five months at 24mg. If I had known about 36mg, that is where I would have started.

Good luck! And remember, even if you pick up a cigarette again, keep vaping.

Might not be getting much power with that setup. Might only be getting 6.5watts or so. It'd help getting a better setup. Cost-wise also.

If you Do smoke, just keep with it. Vaping works waaaay better than other ways. I smoked about 6 aday for a few weeks and was still successful. Many others also. One day you'll either forget to smoke or just be having too much fun to quit vaping :).

    Best wishes!!!!!!!

Do keep in mind that there are other chemicals in cigarettes besides nicotine that cause withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Please just keep vaping. These symptoms will subside over time.

I know everyone is different and has his/her own opinion, but I knew that I couldn't dual use, too tempting. I wanted a clean break, and that's what I did. The first few days were, "Hey, I've not had a cigarette since I started vaping! How miraculous!" But after a week or so, I'd get some of those "EEEEEkkkk" moments when I thought I really needed a smoke. I just rode those out and vaped more. Eventually, they got fewer and farther between. Really wasn't that bad for me.

I'm 4 1/2 years smoke-free now, and YOU CAN BE TOO!!!!! It'll come, just hang in there.

The prologic is a cigalike and there's only one strength offered (correct me if I'm wrong). It might not be the right cigalike for you if it's not satisfying your needs. Others got can try would be are Jul, generally well regarded, or Vuse which has a higher nic level as well. That is what I needed when I first stopped. You're already 10 days in which is great so try whatever you can to keep it going. As to the weight gain don't worry about it. It's the smoking that'll get you. The weight can be managed down the road. Good luck.

Hey, don't give up - from my perspective, you're almost there!
For me, weeks 2 and 3 were the hardest. Not all day, but a few days, I didn't think I'd make it. After probably 15-20 days, that crazy almost uncontrollable need for a smoke went away almost overnight. Like you, it seemed easy at first, then got hard for a short time. Not all day, but man there were some tough hours. Hang in there - timing is different for everyone, but everyone here has been through it...and glad they stuck with it! You'll be amazed how easy it is, and how much better you feel, even after a few weeks.

Everyone is different - If I did the dual thing I'd still be doing it too. I was a very heavy smoker and stopped smoking from the first day I started vaping. I was on very high nicotine 48 mg (4.8%) and I stepped down and down. Six years later I am at around 3mg (0.3%). I tend to agree with the others that it might be that the nicotine is not high enough to satisfy you. A lot of the setups were different when I first started vaping but I was still fairly satisfied and not jittery. I did gain some weight. I would assume that if you are getting stressed out because you are not satisfied then it would adversely affect your blood pressure so maybe a little tweaking to the nic level will help you sustain.

it is a really big accomplishment that you made 10 days so try not to get discouraged.

One more thing - your setup uses capsules and I guess you can only get them in certain strengths. When I first started - I used Vuse which was a filter cartridge that twisted on and I could not adjust that either. It came in one strength and that was it. When I got a different setup with a tank - I was able to adjust better - plus it's cheaper. I would buy 2 or 3 of the same juices in different nicotine strength and I was able to mix them together to adjust up or down. Like if you had a bottle of 24, 18 and 0 - all of the same flavor - you could mix certain amounts of each to tweak the strength as needed - something you cannot do with the capsules. You could start with the 24 and if that works then after a period of time you could very gradually step down. There is even a calculator if you need help figuring out different levels.

    Hang in there PippaL.

Sometimes it starts off Well but you can hit spots where it is Tough.

All you have to do is Get Thru Today. Just Focus on Not Smoking a Cigarette Today.

And if it Starts to get Bad, Pick Up the Phone and call someone. Even if you Don't tell them that you are having a Rough Time. Just Talking with someone can many times get you over the Tough Spots.

    You Can Make It.

    :)
