Hi,
ive been a regular cigarettes smoker for the last 15 years, but since my daughter was born, 3 months ago, i decided to stop smoking/not exposing her to that.
I went to see my local pharmacist and asked him for a nicotine patch prescription.
Im on the last step of the patch treatment but to be honest i still smoke sometimes when i go to work/go somewhere alone.
My wife don't know i still smoke but i just can't resist when im alone, i take off the patch and light one up.
I knew a bit about e cigarettes, i purchased a couple of months ago an e-cig from Dealextreme, but my experience with it was not good.
It gave me no throat hit and i got no pleasure using it.
Now im almost at the end of my nicotine patch (pseudo treatment) and i know i will crave nicotine after.
So last week i went online and purchased a Joye 510 tank starter kit, i expect it in a couple of days and im really hoping that it's better than the cheap e-ciggy i used before.
So far i really like the forum, it's full of information.
Hope to talk to you all soon.
Bye.

Hi Jonathan and welcome. You and I are pretty much in the same boat. Congratulations! My daughter will be turning three months soon and looking into her eyes every day made me realize that I had to quit to be around for her.

My starter kit arrived this past Saturday. I orginally went with one of those free trial offers but after finding this forum and doing a little research, I returned that one the day after it arrived without even trying it and went with the eGo starter kit. Long story short, I haven't had an analog since I took my first vape around 4pm Saturday.

Once again welcome and feel free to reach out.

Hiya, jonathanxx and DaBatMan, and congratulations on quitting and your new bundles of joy! Hope you guys are getting enough sleep! ;)
Nicotine patches: been there, done that. Twice, in fact. First time I actually quit for 1.5 years. Second time was just like jonathan said; secretly smoking during treatment and in my case, at least, feeling guilty as hell for it! Needless to say, it didn't work the second time around...
Trust me on this, Jonathan, your 510 will be leaps and bounds over the Dealextreme ecig!

Best of luck to ya both!

Hi and Welcome!! I got my kit on Saturday too. DaBatMan and me went analog free about the same time. Go us!! Yippee!! Let us know how that 510 T works out. I got the eGo-T and I love it. Only one leaky tank(bad plastic cap) from this morning when I changed it out. I spent half the day at work cleaning the junk out. One silicone replacement cap and tonight its vaping even better. Daddy said to always carry a spare..lol Good luck!!

LOL... Yes, I feel so a part of the family. Today is the 2nd full day analog free and I feel great. It was even better whipping my stainless steel out at the smoke spot during work. People kept asking "what is that, it looks like a pen?" I tell them it's Excalibur... my new way of life.

Vape On!

You sound like you're doing great! I'm so glad!!

Just enjoying my new high. BTW... I'm vaping the Menthol from myfreedomsmokes right now. I think it'll be my daily until I have a chance to try some of the others that you mentioned. Thanks for the advice on the boge LR and drip tip. Totally different world.

I got my kit today!!:)
The batteries were all charged so i could try it right away.
My first impression compared with the cheapo Dealextreme e-ciggy?= totally another world.
The 510 tank system is so easy to use, even for a newbie like i am, filling the cartridges is like a hot knife through butter.
And the biggest fear that i had was to get no throat hit , what i was looking for is the feeling of a real cig, throat hit wise, and it's totally fulfilled, it's even better than real cig IMO.
I got 2 free bottle of e-juice 1 menthol and 1 raspberry, so far i have only tasted menthol and it totally feels like a real menthol cigarette.
I really think that if this would be sold , prescribed by doctor to quit real smoking, lot more people would quit smoking.
My shopping experience was with a canadian dealer called "Canadian Electronics Vapor" and i highly recommend them.

great choice jonathanXx, you will love the ego tank... it has it's quirks is all systems do but overall it's wonderful! once you get it you should also maybe consider buying some low resistance cartomizers, any cartomizer or atomizer with a 510 connection will work on the ego battery... mad vapes.com has good deals on cartomizers that work great! I use 1.7 ohm cartomizers on my precise , but they also work right on my ego when I need to carry something a bit smaller. good luck and great decision!

The only problem now is to make my wife understand that e-vaping is not smoking, she still think it's smoking and second hand smoke is toxic from a e-cig.

It's usually imposible to "Make" anyone do anything they don't want to. I'd advise you to pull up a bunch of youtube videos or gather some documentation on the subject and casually indroduce her to it. That way, she can come to her own "informed" conclusion.

I tried the patches twice, pills, cold turkey, tapering. I quit smoking once for 3 months, but that was because I was in a coma. It wasn't long after coming out of it before I started again. I've been smoking over 40 years, 15 yrs with copd and it got to the point I could hardly breath alot of the time but still kept smoking! Well, last friday, I went down to FSUSA and got a Jessy M. and been smoke free ever since and feeling so much better. Just wish I knew about vaping sooner. I think you'll do fine with the 510. Good luck and happy vaping. :D
