Hi, everyone and thank you in advance if you can help me. I'm sure you've seen/answered these questions numerous times.

I've been using V2 for 9 or 10 months and thanks to there poor customer service and delivery, I started looking around for another supplier. Checked a few of the well known brands and discovered that V2 was actually the least expensive one. Eventually I discovered videos about DIY and found this wonderful forum. V2 is good, but this is the 2nd time I've waited for delayed/out of stock product that they simply should tell customers about. I would have ordered something else, instead of having to buy disposables. 16 days now, on a three day delivery... hopefully I'll get the bulk of my order soon....

I don't think that I'm ready to jump right into DIY but as so many probably ask or desire is just what to buy and how much. I don't want to go crazy but need a starter kit more than likely or at least the pieces and the juice. Often times the lingo many use is mind numbing and the various piece of equipment are seemingly so numerous that I can't quite figure it out.

I just need a list of what I need, and a few vendors to choose from. Maybe that information is already here but I haven't found it yet. I'm not looking for the top of the line, I just want what an "expert/experienced person" would call a very good product, what additional pieces I need, please remember all I know is V2, so I charge my numerous batteries and screw in a new cartridge. I probably need a few batteries, a charger and a list of what I need to get going. I understand everyone has an opinion but a simple straight forward answer can't be that hard? Can it? If its E-go which one? A different brand? I just want to vap...

If you were in Canada I could recommend a place to buy, but I can recommend the ego twist with a Stardust which is what I am using right now. 2 batteries should be enough, quite easy to use and has variable voltage so you can adjust the power level to your personal liking.

Ego twist and vision spinner seem to be the best mid range option, if you have a higher budget you may want to look at a provari setup.

V2 is an 808, isn't it? You could always just start buying all your 808 supplies from Smokeless Image. That way you wouldn't have to start from scratch, just slowly change over as you replenish your stock.

Smokeless Image has an excellent reputation for customer service, and the SI Volt is about as good of a small 808 battery that you will find. They carry plenty of other 808 compatible gadgets for you to move up to as you wish, including larger passthrough and VV batteries and clearomizers.

What you suggested was my first thought when I failed to get the product I ordered in a timely fashion. 3 day order, bulk not delivered 17 days and counting... I really do think it is time to move on from cartridges. Or would that be cartomizers? I'm receiving 12 5 packs shortly as they just said it was shipped yesterday. So I have some time, and wanted to move to the next "level". If people think that spinner or twist are a good jumping in point, I'll go for it. I just need to know what I should look for in a starting kit. What do I need to order to get vaping (strange to type/say that). I think mixing or DIY is a step to far at this point.

Thanks for your help.

This is the kit I definitely have no problem recommending to anyone, even more experienced e-cig users. This is probably going to be the best price too you will find anywhere... and they are in the USA so shipping isn't usually more than a few days. I personally prefer the 1300 "Spinner"s in this kit but it's pretty flexible.

You can try and use code "H8EMZ" at checkout to possibly save up to 10% too (restricted on some items apparently).

Great, sounds like I'm getting closer. So if I order from them, which cartomizer do you recommend and what over accessories do I need to get?

I prefer the Visions myself, others prefer the Kangers. They are both very similar. The big difference is the Vision "clearomizers" have the coil at the top of the tank, closer to your mouth, and the Kangers are "bottom coil", putting it a bit further away. There are pros and cons to both designs but both are also excellent, affordable attachments which ever you prefer. Hey, you could get one of each and let us know which one YOU prefer! :)

That kit is pretty complete. You will need juice of course, unless you have some already you like. My wife loves her lanyard (will fit either one) so she's less likely to drop it while at work. You can get a carrying case too, etc. if you like... but beyond that kit and your choice of juice you are pretty much good to go as-is.

So I don't need drip caps or a mouth piece (if that even exists). Yes I will need the juice and I never use the carrying cases I have the V2 so probably don't need that. How long with the battery last? Roughly? Any idea how much juice and average person needs for a week/month?

Nope. You don't *need* anything besides that kit and some juice. If you are looking to hit that $75 mark (for free shipping) I'm sure I could advise you... :D

My wife says one of our 1300mah Spinners lasts her at least 12 hours and she puffs on it a LOT when she is at work! Something like 4ml a day. That "1300" number is rough estimate of charge time... 1300 = 13 hours, very approximately. When I'm sitting here at the computer all day with nothing better to do than post on this forum I chain vape like crazy and probably suck down 5-6ml a day. It depends on how thick the juice is, how strong a nicotine mix you choose, and of course, how often you use it.

OH! And don't feel you have to buy your juice from them (although a bottle in your order will give you something to vape if you decide to order elsewhere as well). I'm not saying their juice is not good... I'm saying I have no personal experience with theirs.

I'll probably try some juice from them as well. What about nicotine? Does it come in the premix? I kind of got the PG/VG but I'm certain I'll be totally guessing and how I like it until I try it. Any base recommendation on that?

I'm not familiar enough with what you were getting in your V2 carts. I assume you haven't had a real cigarette in all that time or are you doing both? It's much easier to recommend a nicotine strength to someone who can say "I smoke a pack a day of lights" or something.

The consensus on PG/VG is that PG supplies a stronger flavor and VG supplies more vapor but sometimes not as strong a flavor. I think typically most "house blends" are 80/20 as the PG is thinner and wicks a bit better in most unmodified attachments. That said I personally vape a 50/50 blend, which is relatively thicker, out of tanks very similar to those Vision clearos (I have a cheaper clone of them) and they work very well.

OH! I almost forgot! Sooner or later you will want to replace a gunked up or otherwise dead coil. Here are the ones for those Vision clearos... Atomizer Head for Vision Ego Clearo 2.0

They *should* stock replacement coils for the other available selections too. If you are careful not to burn them out you can get a couple weeks or even months out of one of them with maintenance... soaking them over night in vodka once every several tankfuls to clean them is popular. So I'd like to rephrase my earlier comment! All you need *right now* is that kit and some juice. Sooner or later you will need to replace (some people rebuild them themselves, DIY) the coils in the tanks.

:) I was asking if the juice had nicotine in it. I figured it out when I clicked on some of the flavors

I jumped, order placed. 3 10ml bottles and will be looking around for other vendors for juice or if I like it, I may just stay. Thank you so much, I realize people don't like just telling some one what to do, but I was kind of at that point. The house blends where 50/50 but I didn't order much and it would have to be brutal for me not to vap it anyway. I'm fairly tolerant.

Yes, I got V2 late 2011 used it while smoking but stopped vaping fairly quickly. I went on a diet March of last year, and with the weight loss and exercise I thought it was crazy to keep smoking. So I quit the real things May 24th, (yes I had to look it up). Haven't have one since. Nearly 25 years of 1-2 packs a day. Quit smoking and lost a ton of weight at the same time. :) I guess I was ready because it wasn't all that hard. Vaping may have helped with the weight loss..

This already seems far cheaper than V2. I was doing 100-150 a month with them.... Can't be much worse anyway LOL

Congrats to you on quitting! You've made it longer than I have! I actually started with e-cigs four years ago but what was available at the time didn't really float my boat. The stuff that's out there today is MUCH improved! I'm almost 20 days now without a single puff off of a cigarette and I know I'm loosing weight too. Bonus!

Oh, and lucky you! You get my 200th post! :D

Congrats on 20 days and 200 posts. I don't think I was ready the first try but the last time, it wasn't hard to switch over for me. I was around guys smoking my former brand today and it doesn't even bother me to much and certainly isn't tempting. I'm come to far to go back to it. Learned all sorts of interesting things today and I really appreciate all your help. I'm hoping I enjoy this kind of vaping as much as I do the V2's. One thing I did notice from reading other people, that it may be easier to avoid the "real" thing if you switched to non tobacco type of vaping. I couldn't tolerate the tobacco flavored cartridges so I was getting, coffee, (I don't even drink coffee) cherry, cola, grape. Sadly they stopped caring all my favorites right after I really starting enjoying them...

Thanks! You'll like it. And you are very welcome for the help! I'm just trying to pay it forward (most of my first 200 posts have been in the New Members section) because, and this is a fact, I'd probably still be smoking cigarettes today (almost 30 years behind me) if it wasn't for this forum! You'll soon enough be where I am right now and be able to dish out advice as well.

Avoiding tobacco flavored juices certainly seemed to work for me this time, and my wife, who I never thought would quit. I started out with some candy stuff and one that tasted sort of like red bull. Now I'm more into fruity, some coffee, and even some with a touch of menthol (I used to smoke menthols and this tastes MUCH better!) Currently vaping a blend of Fudge Brownie and Peanut Butter, as my late night "snack" ;)

There are MANY great juice vendors out there! Everyone has their favorite and it can be tougher to recommend a juice company than it is to recommend a battery or tank system. But stick around and read some more and you'll figure out who the favorites seem to be pretty quick, I'm sure.

Doh! I should have said this earlier but I can also recommend you check out a cheap "dripping" atomizer or two and a tip for it, or maybe some cheap, empty cartomizers. Makes it easy to try out new flavors in small doses without worrying about mixing a new flavor with an old one in a tank (or having to wash out the clearomizer every time you want to try a new flavor). OR you do what I do, keep a dripping atomizer for taste tests and a bunch of clearomizers color coded to different flavors ;)

Here is a sweet deal on some but they will take awhile to get there since they come from China...
