Just because something is approved or regulated by the FDA/USDA or other government agency does not mean it is safe. How many people die of tobacco related illnesses a year? How many people die or get injured from fires started by tobacco? How many people die from alcohol related health issues? Drunk driving? Alcohol related crimes (assaults, sexual assaults, property damage, et al)?

I know you can order wine on-line, have to be 21 to buy it in a face-to-face store. I do not see an outcry from the FDA or others about banning it's sale on-line. The big issue with that is PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY which very few parents seem to grasp the concept of now in days.

Wow we are getting way off topic because of a can of worms being opened.....

qchristensen - This is not us saying that you are not welcome, you are. You got people talking which is a very good thing. You just touched on some hot button issues that we all feel very passionate about. And looking at the responses we all actually agree with you.

We all want a safe product, we all want to have controls and QA in place so we knew we are using less harmful product that analogs. But we have all seen how much the FDA is insane. They are out to protect the money interests and not the consumer. I'm trying to fight the FDA on two fronts: Personal Vaping and Vitamins/Natural Food/Medicinal Herbalism.

If we all came off as grumpy zealots I apologize.

I am one of those zealots, I suppose, but I do not want to end up using tobacco again. Everything else I have tried has failed. This silly little gadget actually works.

Hope you will stick around and help us with the science aspects because there are a lot of questionable data being thrown around, and we regular people have a hard time wading through it all.

I personally tried using the patch 4 different times, each time I started craving analogs. With my PV I haven't craved even one analog and I'm very happy. I know I feel better and that's all that matters to me. I agree with everyone about the FDA and I agree that this should still only be sold to someone who is 18 or older. I am a firm believer that the government is not here to help us, it all comes down to money. That's all they talk about and that's all they will ever talk about. There comes a time when we have to stand up for ourselves and when it comes to me not smoking I will fight for my right. I have no intentions of ever going back to smoking no matter what I have to do to stay off I will do.
