Is it the Lemony Limy flavours?? what have YOU experienced?
Edit - can someone with the same experience with CAP L/L please advise a smoother alternative Lime or Lemonade recipe please?
In addition to lowering the % as others have recommended, here's a bit more info that may help you.
Not all...but quite a few fruit flavorings (especially citrusy ones) have ethyl alcohol as a base ingredient. It can make your DIY harsh if it's not evaporated off before you vape what you've made. This is especially true if you're trying to use 1 of them as the
only flavoring in your mix. (There's more info on that in the next paragraph.) Just make the mix, shake it really well to cause lots of bubbles, and then leave the dripper tip and cap off until the bubbles burst. How many times you'd need to do that, and for how long...depends on the amount you made and how high the flavoring % was that you used in it. After doing the above a couple times, if it's still kind of harsh...using a drop or 2 of TFA Smooth in the mix (per 30mL of DIY) is likely to help take care of it. If you put too much Smooth in it, it'll likely make the flavoring too dull.
Something else that many who are new to DIY don't realize, is that
most flavorings aren't made to be used as the only flavoring in a recipe, especially the fruity ones.
Most DIY recipes and commercially made eliquids are made with a primary flavoring, some secondary flavorings that are creams and/or other "blenders", and maybe an additive or 2. Trying to make a finished eliquid with
only a single primary flavoring...is like trying to make a finished cherry pie with only cherries.
There
are, however, flavorings that are known as "one shots" in DIY. They're already
each a ready-to-use
combination of flavorings...that you mix with your plain PG, plain VG, and nic base. You don't need to add any other flavorings to it. They may be called other names by some flavoring manufacturers, but each 1 is used the same way.
OneStopDIYShop.com has a large variety of them, that they call "One Stop Flavors" and "One Stop Blends". One of them that might especially interest you...is their Pink Lemonade. Many people really like it. Their recommended % for use in a recipe...is 10% if you're a pretty low wattage vaper, or at 5% if you're a higher wattage and/or sub-ohm vaper. Of course that varies according to the taste you're after. For example, I'm a low wattage vaper, and I like it at only 6%.
You may want to also give their Margarita a try, since you're seeking the lemony and/or lime taste. It's really good, too, IMO. They have an on-going coupon code to get a 12% discount on any/every order, and they sell 10mL sample sizes of their flavorings, too. The code is: JFK or ECF. Either one will work. It might be worth a try for you. Lots of people on ECF who DIY like many of their One Stop Flavors and One Stop Blends. They also carry a large variety of flavorings from the usual manufacturers (ie. TFA, CAP, FW, FA, etc.)
