Hi there. Newbie here both on forum and on e-cig. First try is Blu 2 piece. Had it about 2 weeks and at first it was pretty great, but the last couple of days i seem to be going throug the cartridges much faster. Could they be drying out already from sitting in the box? I put one brand new cart in this morning and there was nothing... no vapor or anything from it. I also seem to be having to charge the batteries much more often.

I do love the fact that these are very similar in size and shape to regular cigs. does anyone have any suggestions on what may be wrong or another brand that is similar but maybe with less issues?

i'm still a little afraid of juice. I've read that it can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

Thanks in advance!

...I'm not gonna tell ya Blu is cr@p since it got ya off the funkies...if you like the size and convienence of the Blu, I would suggest you goto bloogplanet.com, vapor4life.com or smokelessimage .com...these are all vendors for high quality, slimline PVs with reasonable prices and multitudes of options for batts, prefilled/blank carts/cartos and refill juice..........

First of all i experienced this problem before. I have a cart at home that is not giving off any vapor. I'm going to tinker with it when i get home. As to the blu issue, get another, the small battery doesn't last long. I am currently looking into another method of delivery. Another thing i discovered last night while perusing the forums was the way you smoke a ecig vs. a analog. You don't inhale quickly like with the analog. You must drag slowly with the blu to get a decent hit. Just a few thoughts from one newbie to another and a little knowledge i have picked up since starting.

I have a blu as well, and I ordered some blu cartos to start off and the only ones that were lasting / had some vapor were the regular tobacco flavor cartos. I bought the boge 510 bundle from crystal clear vaping and fill it with my own juice and it works a lot better than the blu cartos. Theres a coupon code for crystalclearvaping.com as well, ecf5off

@Madjack... oh i'm not off regulars yet... i'm in a tapering off process lol.
i'm contemplating a manual system, i just don't want anything huge to carry around and being able to charge on the go is a plus since i'm away from the house some days for 16 hours.
thats also another reason the prefilled carts are appealing to me. i don't want to have to carry around juice or worry with trying to refill while i'm on the road... esp since i tend to smoke the most while driving.
there's just So much info and i can't make any decisions in good faith anymore without a little help :)

The Blu threading is a 510 so nay 510 carto will fit. The Boge and Bauway cartos are a little fatter so they stick out on the sides. However, the standard 510 batts and the Blu batts have a different polarity. You would need different chargers for each or the batteries will be damaged.
I went from a Blu, to standard 510 slim kit to an eGo type kit. Next step will be an e Power or a mod. I still use the standard 510s at times. I gave the Blu kit to my son in law. I suggest you stick with 510 threading. That seems to be the most versatile.

Hi Niemand... so if i were to get say a joye 510 manual, then i could use the blu carts i still haven't opened with it? i'm kinda looking at it now. it looks like its still around the size of a regular cig, but it has the button so maybe i won't kill the batts so fast

oh and i should also mention that i would rather have the liquid made in USA. my doc gave me a massive and somewhat terrifying lecture about the stuff overseas. i'd also like to stick with whichever type it is (sorry i can't remember) that isn't prone to allergic reactons

Warning - even though Blu and 510 have the same threading, never ever charge a Blu in a 510 charger nor vice versa. Blu is reverse electrical polarity. Its charger will fry a 510 and vice versa.

You could use Joye 510 batteries instead of Blu ones for I think about 2x as much charge? I strongly recommend manual 510 batteries. They are totally sealed on the threaded end, extremely safe from being damaged or killed by cartomizer leaks, you can use an atomizer and drip tip to test juices. Boge 3 ohm cartos are nice on them. That would be a slight upgrade from Blu (as are the longer Joye 510 mega xl which are long but 3x the charge of Blu). For 510 (non-XL) there is a nice PCC at NoSMokeVA and the XL's have a metal PCC available elsehwere. Stick with atomizers and cartos 2.5 to 3 ohms. The lower ohms LR stuff is for the big fat battery models like Ego, Riva 510 and mods which are the enxt step up in 510-threading - very long charge and can use the hotter stuff.

Alternate way to go is the most popular 2-piece, KR808D-1, a real 3.7v device. The 78m/standard battery size would be 3x the charge of Blu. SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6 are the one style and Vapor4Life is the other style.

the blus probably seem to be decreasing in performance bc you are probably getting the hang of using and ecig. longer and/or more frequent drags.

my first suggestion is upgrade your battery. a 510 will probably work for a while but I highly suggest an ego or something similar and 510 compatable so you can interchange parts. I love using my blu attys for testing flavors bc they are easy and fast to clean.

second get some cartomizers and juice. cartomizers hold a lot more liquid and need to be filled less often. 2 or 3 may get you through all day. there are many models of cartos and everyone has a preference. mine is the ce2 mainly bc of no filler. for some reason any filler at all gags me.

you do need to keep a level of caution when using juice but if you think about it you have to as well with prefilled bc there will always be a leaker or 2. if it gets on you or spills just rinse it off and keep liquid away from kids. I have 3 kids and a big diy setup but it all stays in a lockable tackle box exept for the small amt I carry. and don't try filling/mixing when the kids are running through trying to kill each other ( bathroom is you friend).

try out a few samples from vendors till you find what you like and get comfortable handling juice then try some diy liquid. myfreesomsmokes is a really good vendor

lastly try a box mod maybe even a 5v. I haven't ever needed a 5v but a box is a real nice backup easy to reapair and replace batteries.

Yeah, what's wrong is that it's a "Blu" - not a good model.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

Get a good "beginner" model and many of your problems will go away. I would suggest the E-Power 510 as one of the best beginner models on the market. It's light years better than the Blu.

My wife and I had the Blu Premium Packs. Loved them and the PCC, but hated the battery life. Ended up getting refund and going with a RN4081 kit. Having to look similar to a real cig is also important to me. The RN4081 model is slightly larger than the 510, but much better battery life. However, I know how I felt when I first got here on ECF. Everybody bashed my poor little Blu. To each his reach, if you dig 'em, then stay with 'em.

If you find the battery running out quickly I would recommend the ego t batteries. I first started out with a 510 kit with manual batteries and found that I had to recharge them very often since I loved vaping. :)

I moved up from the 510 kit to a ego type B: much longer battery life and tank holds about 2mls juice. But it is more fussy and the tanks can leak however if you like cartos then there are many different ones available that will fit the ego t batteries (they have the 510 threading). The new ego mega dual coil cartos (emdcc) work very well and are easy to fill and will hold enough juice to keep you going for a day or more (supposedly 5ml but I haven't been able to fit all that into one yet).

As for the allergic reaction to juice you want to stay away from juices that contain PG as this has caused reactions in some people.

After finding this forum and ordering my new toys I tinkered with the blu. I discovered that several of the cartos were dry, straight out of the box. (I stole the juice from several to fill up a tiny little syringe tank. The syringe tank and a refilled carto helped tremendously with vapor and taste...no more burnt stuffing flavor.
Also just dripping a few drops of juice into the carto helps.
