I have a kanger aro-tank right now and I've been vaping for a while now and want to get into dripping. The reason why is because I like the thought of using various flavors without either wasting juice and having to clean the tank before.

I have tried to read different forums on where to start but I don't really understand the verbiage people use because I know nothing about it.

What do I get and where do I start?

Please help! Thanks

This is only my opinion, but I wanted to do the same, so I went to a vape shop, got set up with a mechanical mod (made by Steampunk) and bought a Nimbus dripping atomizer, had the guy at the store build & install the coils for it, he showed me how to put in the cotton wicking and load it with ejuice. He knows how to build tight, low ohm coils that work well with the type mod & battery (a 2500 mAh, IMR 18650 3.7 volt LI-MN, high-drain rechargeable 35A) I bought. The ejuice needed to be diluted with more VG to get a better cloud and to lower the nicotine level some because dripping higher nicotine will knock you out. I know this sounds complicated but I called Smokin Vapor LLC out of Panama City Beach, FL (850) 233-0605 and ask for Jared. The guy is an expert and I finally got the vape experience I always wanted but couldn't get with normal set-ups like the iTaste & Nautilus aspire, etc. Good luck!

The first question is, do you want to build your own wick/coils or would you like something you can just buy and drip into and then replace once it dies? If you're ok with a "disposable" you can get something like this: 510 Bridgeless Atomizer - Black - 2.4ohm you drip a few drops in, vape, repeat. They can be cleaned and some people have used the same one for months.

If you want to build your own wick/coils you'll need to get a rebuildable dripping atomizer, and then I have to ask, what are you using to power it? The suggestions would be different if you're using an ego vs regulated mod vs mechanical.

I have an I taste mvp. I tried rebuilding using you tube and got nothing but a headache. :) I think I might go to the vape shop and see what they say any maybe show me and I can go from there.

If you aren't in a hurry, you could just order a simple single coil dripping atomizer and some 1.0-1.5ohm premade coils. You could do that for $10-$15 from China.

or, go with the 306 or 510 atomizer idea? I used 306s before getting an iGo-L.

Don't buy an 'Octopus' what ever you do. (please...)

To do it yourself, here is exactly what you need:

high drain batteries
kanthal or nichrome wire
an RDA
a resistance tester
a mech mod or high power box mod
some drill bits or small screwdrivers (3/32 or 5/64) to wrap around
cotton for wick
tweezers (ceramic tips are the best because you can squeeze the coils while firing)
heavy vg e-juice with low nicotine. 3mg is best, 6mg is harsher but doable, anything above that physically hurts to vape.

Thats it. get that stuff, watch some videos, and you are good to go! Its actually pretty easy. I have lots of RDAs. They are so much fun.

I started with an igo-l RDA on an Mvp2. It's a very inexpensive way to see if building coils is right for you. The mvp has a built-in resistance checker already, and won't fire below .8 ohms, so it's also a safe way to get started. All you'll need besides the igo-l is some kanthal wire (recommend 28 gauge), wicking material (cotton is easy to begin with) and a small screwdriver or drill bit to wrap your coils around. And some tweezers or needle-nose pliers for squeezing the coils tight. Use a calculator like Steam Engine (Google it :)) to predict how many coil wraps you need to get your target resistance (1.5 ohms is a good first target). Watch a couple videos from Rip Trippers or PBusardo, and you'll be dripping in no time!
