Most buyers will just say no and buy something else if things are too ridiculous. By the way, I don't know what the vendor price currently is - just a guess.

The manufacturer sells to "All" distributors at basically the same cost (Though there are exceptions in the Housewares industry for volume buys, but they aren't drastic differences).. All Distributors are contractually obligated to set the "Same Exact Retail Price", and honor it. NO price cutting, no discounts, etc.. Distributors are allowed to offer "Free Shipping", etc. and many do.
The only reason I know about MAP and Retail, is that I co-own a technology company that create's product feeds for our clients that submit into: Shopping.com, Shopzilla, Pricegrabber, Nextag, GoogleBase.. When we first started contracting clients, one client came to us, and asked if we could code up a monitoring process, that would perform automated searches in these price comparison shopping engines, and report back any websites that were selling "Below" MAP.....

This is a real world example - probably close - of what's happening right now with the Ego-C. They call it the introductory price of 69.95 and say the regular price will be 125.00 after 2,000 units are sold. Common sense tells you they are making MONEY at 69.95 and they would be making a KILLING at 125.00. I won't allow someone to make that kind of money off of me because I know that the beginning wholesale price is around 12.00 to 15.00. Regardless of how MAP works, they won't be making that kind of money out of me as a buyer. I just won't buy it, and I doubt that many others will either. Simply, people will figure things out, and folks don't like being taken for that kind of a ride. A reasonable regular price for the Ego-C would be about 70 in a kit. A reasonable special or sale might be 50 to 55 for an Ego-C kit. They're dreaming if they thing they're going to sell it for 125.
Well, I'm not going to disagree with you that $125 is expensive, but remember it's in the eye of the beholder.. Supply and Demand...
I paid $45 for an Ego-T kit that caused me nothing but 100% misery right out of the gate! It never wicked properly, and all I got was frustration, and a whole heap of "Burnt Cat Litter Taste".. I know many other's that basically threw their T kits in the trash, and went back to a standard 510 system, dripping, carting, whatever. (I contacted the distributor, and demanded a refund, and got such refund)..
I paid $69 + shipping for my Ego-C.. It has (so far) wicked perfectly, and I haven't even killed my first stock Atty! $125 is basically 2.5 cartons of cigarettes in most states, 2 in a select few. Just because you won't pay $125, doesn't mean thousands won't... And I hardly doubt Joye is dreaming about anything. They are shrewd business people, and if they know they have a new system, that eliminates the issues of a previous system, they are going to find that sweet spot in pricing, where price doesn't drive down demand.
Auto manufacturers used to drive demand by shorting supply of new car models. If you wanted the new, hot model early, you were going to pay "Full Sticker".. If you were willing to wait, you would pay a lower price.
Will $125 (Not that we even know that this is going to be the actual retail price going forward) deter some from upgrading, probably.
The bottom line for me is, I'll gladly pay premium for something that keeps me from wanting to go buy a pack of smokes!
More likely people will be buying just the atomizer body and the atomizer heads rather than the kit itself. Right now the heads are priced pretty well....
I agree about what an ego-c kit price should be.
What i suggest is not to buy the kit when it will be arond $125 or buy right now at the 69.95 limited offer...
if you can't buy now just wait a couple of months and when the clones will be on the road the joye (and its business partners) price will be cut down.

Woooo Hoooo Got my Ego-C today and yes, putting it together was a cinch for a newbie, but probably didn't hurt that I took all the advice from this post!!!! I'm already happily vaping on my Red Hotz. So that's what I've been missing??? OMG!!!! I tried my Apple Pie that I was using in my Blu's and I can't say I like it in either, tastes a little "chemical" to me. But I have a bunch of E-juices on their way and I hope they get here soon!!!
One little question.... It came with silicone mouth pieces? Do you just use those over top of the hard mouth piece? I thought maybe it was just some sort of cover but they have a hole in them. Is there a purpose to these that I'm missing?

I think you are referring to the "Mouthpiece Covers"? They are just to cover your tank mouthpiece if you are a germ freak, lol
Glad you like the Red Hotz on the "C", nice flavor w/ the stock Atty's.
I did prime but I did it after I put it back together by dripping a couple drops on the spike. I just took the same atty apart again and re-cleaned it tonight using the atty cleaning process from highping that Dom C linked to (thanks Dom C!). This time I primed the coil and the spike before I put it together and this atty is working quite nicely now. Thanks for the tip ournature!

I use the silicon covers when I go out and if I give someone a try of the PV the silicon cover protects me from their smoke breath germs
But seriously, I take a couple with me for that purpose, then clean them with soap & water and then a Vodka bath, reuse.
I used a mouthpiece cover for one day and then ditched it. I preferred my tank "naked".

That's a great use for them. I actually thought of that as an alternative use (other than personal use).
That looks like a pen style clone of the T, not the C.
I agree - although the spike plate is viewable doesn't mean it's a separate head like the c is. Close though....

The price difference is not dued to extra costs in the production side imho.
I just think they have to match the full kit price with the spares assembly price.
If buying the ego-c in separated parts would cost less than buying the full kit nobody would buy the full kit...
Price will go down after the chinese spring festival.
Although I've heard some say their batts don't have this feature, the Ego-C batts are supposed to have the color changing led in the button to indicate battery life. Also, there is supposedly something else new and better in the electronics that supposedly makes it better and last longer but idk anything more about that, could be just bs to make it sound good.
