New P3 Endcap

I'm curious about what makes the new P3 endcap special. We've been told that the Provari endcap will work on a P3, because they have the same threading, so why won't the P3 endcap work for the Provari?

Also, what improvements did this new endcap bring to the table?

I think I read somewhere that the new P3 end cap has a stronger spring that could damage the 2.5's circuit board.

I also heard all the ProVari end caps will thread onto the P3 and can still be used. Not sure why it wouldn't work on a ProVari 2.5
I already bent my spring on my P3 Beta end cap. I will be replacing my spring this week when I send my P3 in for the 3.6 version software update.

Cap threads and size are the same.

Spring size and tension are different. V3 is bigger and stronger.

V2.5 and below Provi have a glued in position board/display assy.

V3 Provi board/display appear to be held in place by a plastic cassette/housing assy and can use the larger spring to hold the batteries in place without affecting the board/display unit.

Holy crap that's a massive cap/spring! Seeing a picture of just the P3 endcap by itself really doesn't put it into perspective like that. Okay, I can see why that might cause a problem for the v2.5.
