Hi guys. I am new here and very excited to learn from everyone.
I have been learning alot recently and had a question please?

I have seen on a number of forums and videos about how some peek insulators for positive pins either melted or damaged.

I would like to know if anyone knows of either an rda or rdta with fat or thick peek insulators?

I am just being extra safe.

Your help is appreciated

Thanks

Proper PEEK (Polyether ether ketone), is a Thermal Plastic with a melting point of 343°C (662°F). If this is melting it is done so through user error, either with a short, or dry burning for too long.

There could also be products that substitute PEEK with some other form of insulator. Without know exactly it is difficult to comment.

I am so glad i joined here as i see you guys reply so fast.
My dead rabbit sees lots of use. Ive got a geekvape Tsunami mech mod that i like pretty good but honestly, the dead rabbit on a regulated mod seems to out perfom

I’ve got a bunch of them. Almost all of them older. The two I use most lately is a big block 454 which I drilled out for squonking, and a profile which I also squonk.

The big block is fairly old. I like it because it’s unusual in that it can take 4 coils. The profile is still around though and well liked. It’s a mesh atty and takes little pieces of screen. I use SS 200 mesh in it.

Multiples of Profile RDA’s and been using the Profile Unity RTA quite a lot. I’ve developed a relationship with the mesh. We understand each other, take windy walks together, watch movies and share a bucket of popcorn. Have a laugh or 2 over a cocktail. It is always by my side! My other RDA’s are jealous, one has threatened to leave and take the coils with it. I fear a messy divorce in my near future. Perhaps I should give them a little attention.

If you want safe, don't use a mech. ;)
I'm currently running a Velocity from 2015 @110w. It gets too hot to touch.
Most of my attys are 3-5 years old and I haven't had any problems. The majority of the newer atty's are made to withstand a lot more heat. Be wary of the super cheap clones though.

The only newer atty's I have are the DropDead and Recurve. Both excellent atty's for different reasons.

RDAs are all fairly similar. There are single coil, dual coil, and mesh types. Other differences are comparatively minor. Same goes to a lesser degree for RTAs. Some are easier or harder to build, but the designs are all reasonably similar.

If you’ve never built anything before I suggest going with a single coil RTA. They’re easiest.

Like Punk..Profiles mesh has taken control of my desk and pockets. I only have 3...only been vaping for 9 months. I did like my Pulse and the Recurve but then started to use MTL RTA's. After 9 months my atty stand is getting crowded. My issue currently is tank or squonk...so I got a Galaxy to get my cake and eat....also learning to love my Kylin mesh RTA.
