Hi.
I'm new to it all myself but have a mate who' into it big time and has lots of different rda's from over the years.
I like my Vortice, a nice flavourful hit and quiet! Built with a single coil. My Infinity V3+ (AKA V3 mini) also likes a single little .4 coil with all the airflow wide open.
But If I could buy one tomorrow it would be the Rebith! Mate has one, it's a smooth, flavour banger that works well with one coil installed diagonally across the top... He vapes with a harder, hotter vape and it is still a good experience even for a rookie like me...
On things melting where they should not... All threads and 510 connectors want to be spotless. You only want a resistance in your coil!
I clean my threads on my mech mods daily. Applying isopropyl alcohol with a cotton bud (Q-tip) to the inside of the 510 threads and using a bit of paper towel on any other outside facing threads. If I'm loving a particular setup I wipe a fine bit of WD40 on the threads of my rda connectors.
After a build I re-tighten my coil securing screws at least twice, once after the dry burn setup and again after the first vape, most times they turn a fraction tighter. Any of that loose would generate unwanted heat for sure!

WD40 is not a great option for vape equipment. It is non-conductive and will leave behind an undesirable residue and it can react with some rubbers and plastics used in mods and atomizers. If you want to treat your threads with something Deoxit is a much more suitable product to be using.

Point taken, maybe I should have worded it better. I do only use it to clean the blackening off the thread. I don't leave it on...

I still think it is a poor choice to use on vape equipment. It's penetrating properties can get it into unwanted areas and contaminate things you wouldn't want it to and also makes it so it is not easily cleaned away. Especially if used near or on a squonk pin. Rubbing alcohol is more than sufficient for cleaning threads and almost completly evaporates away. You would need to use something like rubbing alcohol to clean the WD40 off anyway since it sticks to most everything and cannot be simply wiped away or washed off with water based products.

Naalox is another good one to use for keeping all in perfect vaping order. It cleans those 510 threads and is made for electrical applications. Keeps my threading good as new. Available at HD in the electric dept in a small tube. :)
