Well, you can now add the Nemesis to the ChiYou and King (among others I'm sure) that hcigar has stolen and copied (not cloned, copied). As announced on Vapor Joe's blog, they sent him pictures of their Nemesis copy.

It looks like they went after the VW edition but I wouldnt be surprised if all 5 editions were copied. Too soon to tell.

From the picture, it looks like the presence of the beauty ring is the only thing (from the outside anyway) to differentiate between the copy and the real Nemesis - I suspect that there will be finishing differences if you were to look at them side by side but, in a photo it will be hard to tell (just as it is with their Chi copy).

I am disgusted... far less than pleased.

Loco - I don't know if there are any patents or trademarks you have (like for the Nemesis Logo) but, if you do, now would be a good time to make some calls. The logo on the ChiYou copy is exact because MoJo doesn't have exclusive rights to it (it is a Korean soccer team logo if I remember right) and I don't know the story on the King logo. I also cant tell if they use the Atmomixani steam train logo on the bottom button... no picture of that yet. If those logos are trademarked, patented, or protected in any way, you should contact a lawyer.

A clone is one thing but an outright copy is another. Opinions differ on this issue (and can get heated) so, I won't go into too much here except to say that there is a special place in hell (if you believe in that sort of thing) for those that steal someone else's hard work and leverage their reputation to make money - it is despicable and infuriating.

There are subtle differences in the chi, such as the background on the korean letters being a light white vs a dark grey on the clone. But you are right, unless it is in your hand, you wouldn't know from a picture. And I agree.. when you put the logo on there it goes from a grey area to outright theft.

So my new Brass Nemesis was just dropped off by UPS!!! I had a question for everyone ( more importantly the Brass Neme owners )

What is the best way to give these a first time cleaning? I also own a VW Nemesis and when i first got it, I broke it all down and washed each piece with a tooth brush with some foaming hand soap and water. Then i dried it really good.

Can i do the same for the Brass? I wasnt sure simply because its a different material and figured i would ask first before i did anything.

Thanks!

Thanks for all of the answers about the brass rba. I'll take a look at the options mentioned and make a choice.

I'm currently waiting for my Nemesis to arrive. I had it shipped to my mother's house because that's the billing address for the cc I used. I didn't want the brass Nemesis to sell out while I typed in a different shipping address. It's currently 6:30 pm here and I've been waiting for UPS for four hours. I am waiting in anticipation to hear the loud engine noise from the UPS truck as it turns onto my street. :)

I'll post pictures when I can...

Does anyone happen to know where i can get the smaller spring that is used for the switch on the Nemesis? Not the larger spring but the little one that goes either along with the larger one or can be used alone for a softer throw on the switch?

My new Brass nemesis did not come with one that arrived yesterday. The VW i ordered 3 weeks ago HAD one but when i was cleaning it, I by accident tossed it out because it rolled onto my floor and i later found it and it was such a small spring that i thought it was a broken spring that had been laying on my floor for awhile, I didnt know it was attached to the other spring on the Nemesis switch. I dug thru my garbage cans and cannot find it.

Brass finally arrived after UPS came twice and i wasnt home for a signature.. I must say, I love it, but I didn't get the fish bag this time. If it doesn't smell like fish is it still authentic? :p

If you watch the beginning of this gp paps lux review, the guy shows the difference in polished before and after. The tube he is using he polished, and he shows the 18500 tube with patina. Might give you an idea. As far as the engravings, I have seen some posts on the nemesis legion fb of people saying they have messed up their engravings. But i do not know how true it is, it may just be that THEY messed it up, not the cape cod.

I'm finding that cape cod cloths are wearing out the engraving on my brass nem. It has a solvent, so it could be that. My engravings are still visible but barely. You can hardly feel the engraving by touch. I've sent for Sunshine Cloths, which I hear are good for fine engravings. I'll post my findings when they arrive.

This is mission critical because I have #0012 and I don't want to ruin the sn.

This is kind of OT but for those of you who own a brass Name along with another Neme of a different finish, do you swap the parts from the 2?

I own a brass and a VW and I am really liking the look of the swapped parts between the 2 BUT does this kind of kill the fact of owning a brass Neme?

Kind of a stupid question some may think but I am just curious what others do or think who own a brass Neme. Swapping the lock ring, kick ring and top cap, between the 2 to me look totally awesome I am just wondering if it takes away the luxury of owning a all brass Neme by doing so?
