New Protank 3 working poorly. Should I get a new tank and avoid its issues or try to find a battery that'll make it work.

I started off with a knock off eGo battery and a vision stardust that looks almost exactly like the black one in the image above. It works perfectly for my needs however the tank is too small. I end up refilling it three times a day on average.

Originally I wanted to buy a vivi nova tank but the local Canvapes vendor didn't have any in stock.

So as a result, I bought the Kanger Protank 3 tank and a real ego-c battery. I am getting little to no smoke from this setup. Later, I was told that I needed a better battery, one with variable voltage.

Should I get a new tank and avoid its issues or try to find a battery that'll make it work?

I also read that a lot of people have issues with this tank with flooding and gurgling and leaking, so should I continue to look for and buy the vivi nova tank? or buy a new battery in attempts to try to get the Protank 3 to work?

If you recommend me to stick with the Protank 3, then which battery would you recommend to get this to work? eGo twist or the EVOD variable voltage?
If you recommend me to go for the vivi nova, then which batter would you recommend?

personally, I became quite happy with ProTanks.
"Little or no" vapor could be a few things:

1 - try a lower resistance coil. I buy 1.8, which usually are really 2.0, and these work OK with an Ego - better with a Twist/Spinner/Winder, where I can turn it up to 3.9 volts or so...

2 - try popping the airtube off the coil, and removing ONE of the strands of wick lying across the top. I find that lets a ProTank get enough juice to vape better. This is NOT a fix for gurgling - but may be a fix for "no enough vapor" or for "dry hits".

I did "move up" to bigger mods and carto-tanks - but I still use a ProTank and Ego sometimes. You can make that setup work!

I think a new battery would really help but here is an issue I had that might help your current setup in the meantime:

The piece that screws on to the battery and covers on the bottom of the clearomizer doesn't fit perfectly between the clearomizer and battery, on my setup anyways, there is about one full turn of give. Make sure it is tight against the tank itself, NOT the battery. Hopefully that made sense.

whoa that MVP 2 sure looks big. Looks perfect for at home use over traveling. I'm not a fan of itaste vv design; I love its functionality but to me it looks ugly and i'd much rather a handle thats heavier and stainless steel.

Not really. Maybe it would help to see it next to an object you are familiar with? You do have Altoids in Canada, eh?

Thank you for the confirmation!

I might just grab that battery tomorrow. How long does it last at such high voltage?
Also, any difference between that eGo-c Twist and evod's vv batteries? I much prefer the button and design of the evod batteries.
Who are you directing the question towards?

If you don't mind the size, get the 1000mah, but even then, if you're using it a lot it's not going to last you all day. I'm not sure of any difference between Joy eGo-c and EVOD batteries, as long as you're getting a variable voltage 1000mah I would imagine either brand would be fine. It makes more sense to me to get the EVOD, keep the unit with one brand. I have no idea why I ordered the eGo battery to go with mine, but hey it works. :?:

The egov3 vv has a 1300 mah battery. It has the same button as the regular ego. Battery life depends on use. Some get 2 hours with heavy vaping on a dual coil clearomizer , others get 2 days of light vaping. I tend to get about 2 1/2 hours with very heavy vaping. The Innokin mvp2 has a 2600 mah battery, and will last for much longer vaping sessions .

Hate to say it, but for me, the Protank 3 has been a blessing, and a waste. A waste because I've gone through 3 different coils, 3 different blends of juices, settings from 3.8v to 4.4v, and the tube either clogs/gurgles, or has a burnt taste. Just couldn't get it to work for me. The PT3 was the last clearomizer that I ever spent $ on. It's a blessing because it made me want to explore rebuildables, and now I'll never go back!

The egov3 vv 1300's are cheaper then the joytech eGo-c and EVOD 1000's at canvapes too. I need to start reading more before buying.

i too was frustrated by cheaper batteries performance and moved to an i-taste svd.i still use it but moved on to mechanical mods (with standard resistance coils) and invested in a good charger, the best batteries (thanks Batitude) and began learning the finer points of vaping. research is your best friend right now before you make another purchase. best of luck in your search...

Mine has been good, but I read that some people have had these problems. I ordered a meter of 1mm elks silica just in case, that seems to fix a lot of other peoples problems, adding it on top of the wick. Luckily I haven't had to try it yet.
