It started with the eGO and Tornado for the 510 atomizer ... then the Riva, Hello 016, and some dinosaur thingie ... then broadened to include the Kr8 and 901 attys with the Elegant, Defender, and Riva-901 ... then bigger batteries, atomizers, cartridges, and cartomizers (and use of the LR 306 atty) for the first group ... then Inferno, V-GO, and KGO ... and there will be more.

These are models with much higher mAh than e-cigs prior to 2010, are wider than those analog imitators, and many (although not all) have cones, others look like cigars. Shown below are some of them:

This is not an e-cigarette model, it is a category of many models (just like penstyle, mini, super-mini, and mod*) ... and it needs a name.
* You do realize that these "eGO-type" PVs are not mods, right? Mods are housings for generic batteries; these are unique batteries.
A bunch of us in a thread in the eGo Type Models forum have been brainstorming on this and came up with several candidates. What do you think is the best name for this immensely popular and growing category of PVs?

In addition to voting, I hope you will post your comments and additional ideas ... and specify which you prefer within the grouping you chose. For example, if you want to leave it as it is now, do you prefer eGO-type, eGO-like, eGO-style, etc.?

Thanks! Let the naming begin!

i don't see the sense for this, sorry. throwing them all into an eGo type misleds people too much imho.
there are already too much variations, and even one vgo with reverse polarity for battery&charger, which kills the devices if someone mix up chargers and batteries.

if i have to name a category, which still is not necessary in my opinion, call them just Bigs

I think eGo Style would be a better choice than conezawhatsit or anything else. Saying eGo type is too specific, saying eGo like is to generic IMHO.

I agree with eGo-Style. The Joye eGo is the pioneer of this genre of PV, sort of the benchmark. Cone style would take my vote, but with the cylinder style type B atties (and whatever might come up in the future) the cone is no longer a trademark of the genre. I think fat batt may be too general and might confuse newbies with chucks and the like. ELB/robusto/jumbAh/etc are too abstract to catch on, we'd be getting lots of "what's a jumbAh??" threads in the new members forum ;) eGo-Style is simple, easy to understand, and just makes sense.

I voted for Fat Batts because it makes the most sense.

The term should imply that it's the same as the other batteries for a given atty or cartomizer, just a higher Mah due to its "bigger" size. Fat is a good term because it refers to girth.

As a noob, it took me a while to realize that the eGo and Riva were the same. Then even longer to realize that they both were just bigger 510 batteries.

I had the same problem with the XL and Mega designation: I assumed they were the same size, just had better batteries to give them more Mah (just like the Mah of rechargeable AA's keep going up). Maybe we can redo them, too, and call them "short," "tall," etc. Then we might have a tall 510; a fat 901; a short, fat 510.

While we are at it, we could get rid of "mod", too, and use terms like "plain," "pretty" or "ugly", depending. Then we might have a tall, skinny pretty 510.

We also need a term for Mah, since this is another characteristic of the batteries. How about "crazy" for 650 mah, or "insane" for 750, "psycho" for 1000. Which is what people will think of us at Starbucks as we vape, drink and say things like "What's that you're sucking on, a short, fat, ugly psycho 901?":p
