Hi Everyone,
So I used my new Green/Silver Grand for the first time this morning...love it, vapes beautifully, but there's some kind of gritty film on it and I was wondering what I could do to remove it so that it's as smooth and buttery feeling as my other Reos? I tried wiping it down with a little dishwashing liquid, but it's still there:confused:

That may be part of the issue that Rob was having with the anodizers on the last run of Grands. I'd PM him about it.

Thanks margie... awww, I didn't want to trouble him about it if there was anything I could do about it myself... If I don't get any DIY suggestions, I'll PM him tomorrow :)

Yeah, Rob had said he wasn't happy with the anodizers. The current batch of Grands were tumbled and anodized a 2nd time and still not what he wanted, but the alternative was to scrap the batch and not have any new Grands to sell for a few more weeks. I think he made the right call. The Grands and Minis are good looking mods, but they're real value is in how well they work, in my opinion. My Grand used to have a perfect finish but I took care of that with my own clumsiness. It works great though, and that's what matters most.

Oh yeah, this film annoys the OCD in me, but I'm keeping my Grand :)

I've been rubbing against it for a little while and whatever it is, it seems like it will come off -- I'm going to try veggie oil...thanks SuziesMom :)

Let me know what you find that works. I got a silver/blue grand in the last shipment. It is not nearly as smooth as my black so I may try to improve it.

If your really brave get some very very fine steel wool :)

I've used it on two of my Grands ... they were from the first batch were the anodize was kinda scratchy ...

It didn't change the color at all just made them nice and smooth.

I wonder how this next batch is going to be? Does anyone know if Rob had any issues with the Reo Minis and Grands for todays sale?

The Grands are still from the batch that the anodizers had to do twice. The Minis came out perfectly.

He is just getting the next batch of Grands back from tumbling. They should be going to the anodizers soon and up for sale in a couple of weeks.

If it doesn't affect the color I'd be glad to try it... I'd have to buy that though... thanks Tim :)
