We all know E-Cigs are safer than cigarettes, but the question is by how much. This new report from the University College London Team contains some information on the subject.

BBC News - E-cigarette criticisms 'alarmist' say researchers

It is assuring to know that the information comes from a university, not from an expert on the payroll of special interests. But then again even learning institutions are often sponsored by special interests.

Thats a big hedge. Clearly way less than cigs, nearly harmless like 99% less
But there is still the possibility of some unidentified risk - so he plays it safe by using 95%
No particular risk just being conservative. So assume it would save 6300 out of 6670 yearly smoking deaths per million smokers.

In the US tho, the government figures come to about 10,400 smoking deaths per year per million smokers.

In fact there are some risks that need to be examined, but it will take years. I heard for example that each flavor we vape has between 300 and 900 different chemicals. A simple strawberry flavor has 300 of them. No one knows what new compounds are produced from heating those chemicals by several degrees. .. Just one example of a possible risk.
