I'm pleased to report that RJ Reynolds is the first large tobacco company in the US to encourage smokers to quit smoking (by urging them to switch to smokefree Camel Snus). The company is now running three holiday themed advertisements in free arts/entertainment news weeklies in various cities (and probably elsewhere), which can be viewed at:

Hopefully, the FDA won't further protect cigarette markets by claiming that Reynolds' new ads make Camel Snus an unapproved smoking cessation drug device (as the agency did in September 9 letters to e-cigarette companies claiming that their marketing statements urging smokers to switch to e-cigarettes violated the FDCA).

Hmmm...wonder if the "drama-free" is a crack at e-cigarettes? lol

I'm surprised they don't have to have the "Smokeless tobacco is not a safe alternative to smoking" warning that is on chew.

Hmmm...wonder what would happen if they followed the letter of the law, with a bonus.

"Smokeless tobacco is not a safe alternative to smoking...It's only 99% safer."
