Yeah, irritating to see that big block, but I just click the "Log in" to the left on your grab, and it goes away and the proper fields show up.

A few folks using Windows desktops and laptops have mentioned the color of the down arrows (caret or caron) for popup nav as being difficult to see.
The dimmed out color over the dark header background color, caret next to Forums for example, is not the best color choice with that background. It looks washed out.
Can the carets be made larger making them obvious for people to see and notice???
It would be nice if all of them, sitewide, could be made slightly larger.
Or, maybe a different, lighter shade, for the header might make their current size stand out more???
It's not an issue on my iPhone or iPad due to the obvious differences in layouts. Also, I don't have an issue seeing them on my Mac desktops or laptop.

Need more information. Can you please be more specific in explaining the problem you are experiencing with logging in???
You are logged in now and with the same user ID you have used previously.
You last logged in on March 29, 2022.
What did you do to get logged in today???
Oh, I see. Sounds like a permissions issue to do with post counts or even those new XP points. For instance, with the old forum you could not receive or send PMs until you have 5 posts. Could be that this update has the parameters set differently and that maybe you have to have more posts (or points?) than you have to even access your profile, let alone your messages?
Seems like a lot of things might need a bit of ironing out yet.

Yes, you need to be logged in to create posts or threads etc. You can browse most of ECF without being logged in.

What ECF feature are you trying to use when you are not logged in???
Do me a favor. Click on your User name in the upper right corner of this page. When you do, you should see the following (you will see your User name)...
See where the letter symbol is, immediately to the right of the Bell symbol???
Click the letter symbol (Conversations, or mail as you call it) and that will (should) take you to your mail (conversations) page.
Does it???
Then you should see new mail from me. Please reply to that. If you are able to reply then we know your mail is working.

Honestly I am not sure, I have been trying for two day and finally got in somehow.
I left and came back and this time when I click on my name it doesn't say that that I need to log in anymore.

Ok I did that when I came back, left for a bit, and everything seems to be ok now.
before when I clicked on my user name it told me to log in but when I did it said I was logged in.
I am going to log out and back in a few times and see what happens.
