But I see no reason for it anyway.

The reason for it is to help increase the active community. It's there to get newbies to become part of the community rather than just bystanders & lurkers.

You'd be amazed at how many people these days, especially younger folks, are utterly confused at the forum format and how it works as they "grew up" on social media formats and find forums utterly confusing. I found this out when I tried to get redditors to come here after reddit made all vaping NSFW and tee'd a lot of people off. But the forum format is a hard sell, so to speak. Mooch sends them here to read his battery tests as this is their main home, reddit being a traffic funnel, but they don't seem to go much further than his blog post lol.

A few folks using Windows desktops and laptops have mentioned the color of the down arrows (caret or caron) for popup nav as being difficult to see.

The dimmed out color over the dark header background color, caret next to Forums for example, is not the best color choice with that background. It looks washed out.

Can the carets be made larger making them obvious for people to see and notice???
It would be nice if all of them, sitewide, could be made slightly larger.

Or, maybe a different, lighter shade, for the header might make their current size stand out more???

It's not an issue on my iPhone or iPad due to the obvious differences in layouts. Also, I don't have an issue seeing them on my Mac desktops or laptop.

Thank you.

Oy ! Yes, that is very faint.
I have requested that to be more noticeable.

I disagree, if someone wants to sign up, the "Register" is in Orange a lot brighter than the login, NO Reason for a popup. Making something pushing you to sign up to me turns me off on wanting to sign up. Why does it matter if someone "Registers" on the site, if they get information about vaping, that is all that matters. JMHO

Everyone's different.

If a person doesn't like the register popup then they can just................ register. They have no problem doing it for Zuck or Wojcicki, then they should have no problem doing it on a well-established vape site like ECF who isn't watching their every word and move lol. It's free!!!!!!

In your case, you say you see it whether you are logged in or not, which is unfortunate, but this most likely points to a browser/local issue. Clear cache, clear cookies, clear everything, restart system, see what happens.

Why does it matter if someone "Registers" on the site, if they get information about vaping, that is all that matters. JMHO

A website runs on

money

Go to google and type shared web hosting or even VPS hosting. You can get it for as little as $3 a month.

Yeah, ECF doesn't run on that :D.

A site with ECF's traffic/bandwidth probably pays at least $400/month for hosting alone.

Signups can increase ad revenue as the more signups a site has the more value it has to advertisers and therefore they can command higher prices or CPC or CPM or whatever model ECF uses to get ad revenue from advertisers. ECF also relies on memberships to keep the site running (although I should be one to speak about this as I am not a paying member lol, but the point is I understand the business side of websites and how much they can cost to run. Information is never free, nothing truly is, and neither is web hosting, website security, website maintenance, etc, etc, etc).

I hope you can get that register popup to go away. Maybe search google for this problem with Xenforo.

I just realized that there's no icon to put bullet points in a post. Or am I just not seeing it?
You're not seeing bullet points or lists because they are not currently enabled (via Button Manager). There are options for both. I thought I saw them in the text editor a few days ago (I'm probably wrong).

Perhaps @alexj-12 and/or @classwife haven't gotten around to enabling them yet. Or maybe a decision was made to disable those??? Maybe Classy has it on her list of to-do items.

They're probably concentrating on the getting the overall look/feel set as well as certain under-the-hood items for now.

Right, I'm just reporting it in case I'm just not seeing it or to let the powers that be know.

I actually don't use it a whole lot as I find it faster to

- just
- type
- my
- bullet
- points
- like
- this

There is a 'buttonless' way.. BB codes

And I just discovered the post/reply editor doesn't work fully anymore with my primary browser. Specifically I note the cursor itself doesn't act like it should, and a lot of the edit boxs' features aren't available. I might need some alone time here to think about things. I was, and am using the ECF dark theme, and that was somewhat of a problem before the upgrade. So who knows?

Huh, it seems to work fine now. I switched the "Toggle BB Code" 'button' back and forth..

well, thought it was my mouse but it has to be ecf. since yesterday evening drag and drop/copy and paste is no longer working for pictures. using ff and all was well before :(
    any ideas?
    @alexj-12

Got this tip a few days back, from @Detroit Doug .

In the message pane, once the cursor is where your want the pic, click the little landscape pic icon, just to the left of the smiley button. Select URL and paste in the pic url. Seems to work consistently... uh, so far? ;)
