I run the "ceramic" decks in my squapes and the term "flavor monster" is a good one. using the ceramic decks I get as good if not better flavor than my rose v2! and it puts out nice flavor ;) even the factory decks put out decent flavor imo but, the ceramic decks, MMMM
The "B" or "W" deck, Nelson? I think they have both in ceramic now...right?

Is this a Squape RS you are referring to? If so, what deck, type of build, wire type, wraps, size, ohms are you using? I have both authentic and clone Squape RS including the ceramic decks and I find the flavor is incredibly mutted compared to other tanks. I have tried many builds and am beginning to think this tank just is not a flavor tank.

Thanks

yes, the squape Rs. that's odd you're not getting good flavor... how high do you have your coil?

Where did you find the clones you have? I am having a hard time finding them. The one I have is from eBay and I have no idea the brand. Love it minus that center pin. Just a little too short.

Do set screws work best? I am worried that the heads may be too big.
Cheeseheads would probably be too big, but you can grind them down. Easier would probably be to get the countersunks - if you have any old Evod head insulators, maybe try putting one on the screw or in the hole before screwing it in.

Ah Ha this was something I did try. It was helping some, but really that screw is just not long enough. God forbid you remove it from the mod then it take a eternity to get it to fire again. A lot of wiggling and moving around. Love it when it will work. I will look for countersunk then. Having some around probably wont be a bad thing. I need to go take a look at the 3f place. I had seen it but was not so sure about it, but yall getting stuff from there makes me feel a little better. Would love to have the purple and blue ones.

would you mind sharing with me the link to the ones you got? I dont want to end up with the wrong ones. thank you
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/M3x16mm-Flat...235882?hash=item419ebfac6a:g:8QUAAOSwPYZU60Ua those are the ones I have. however, I had to modify the heads by putting them in a drill and using a flat file I milled them down to the size they needed to be. google M3X16mm stainless steel bolt, tons will pop up. but I have yet to find any that didn't need to be modified :(

Sorry if I am asking too many questions. I just really want this to work and to learn too. So you take down the sides of the head right? Did you have to do this to the ones you got on 3F too? I am thinking about getting two from there as well so was wanting to make sure. I am going to go order these screws now. I am was happy to see they are here in the states and I don't have to wait for them to come from over seas. lol Thank you so much for all your knowledge. You are being such a great help.

What would happen if I used black oxide set screws? I was thinking set screws would be easier. Mostly cause I was thinking of the pin used on the kabuki. It adjusts with a hex key. I don't own one but have seen videos. I have not seen a ss set screw though. Any thoughts? I did order the screws you suggested they should be here sat. My mail comes late so Sunday I will be out grinding down a screw. Lol

the screw design itself looks like it would be awesome, no grinding needed ;) BUT, it's the black oxide part that concerns me... not sure how well that would conduct the power? copper would be the optimum screw type :) if you can get those set screws in SS, Brass or Copper they would be PERFECT!

I don't think set screws would work as a pin in this atty. I think you need something with a lip to anchor it to the threaded part (there's a lip inside there as well, to catch it, actually the insulator that the screw would press down onto), otherwise the deck plate would just bob up and down. You'd be relying on the o-rings on the base to keep it in place. Not good for resistance. :2c:
FWIW, I've never had any problems with the supplied 15mm screw. If it's not reaching the deck plate to catch a few threads, maybe the deck isn't pushed in all the way. Don't force it though - if you strip the threads in the deck plate, you're gonna need a whole new base.
