I like the idea and looks of these metal drip tips. But when I have an 'all metal' connection from the atty to my lips, it gets too warm/hot. My lips actually get a chapped / dried out spot. This is why I like the Shiloette tips or a Delrin tip in the IO6DCA (that I'm lucky to have gotten from Isaac). Anyone else notice this? Or do I just vape too hard, too much?

I haven't noticed this at all with these drip tips. They seem to be plenty big to dissipate the heat.

These are thick enough to keep them from getting any heat from the atty.

I'm curing some wood right now for my next build which is going to be a VV bottom feeder. I've had the stuff for over a yr to build a couple mods but just haven't had the time. I cut some wood a couple weeks ago and I'm just waiting for it to dry so it won't warp.

If you prefer an alternate drip tip, get the sleeve version, it goes from io6 to 510/901 fitting, so you can use any standard 510 dt.

My thoughts exactly.

One thing I've noticed is I get the dry spot regardless of drip tip, usually if I get juice on my lips and don't wipe it off. Juice doesn't bother me (mouth/lips) so I usually just ignore it.

5card - that's interesting, I'm running the IO6DCA and that hole unit can get warm enough to transfer heat to a metal drip tip.

mark - I have a couple of those sleeves. They're pretty nice and I like them with a shorti tip.

Regardless my personal experience with heat transfer - I'll be getting one of these when the cart is available again. Just have to try it, if it comes from IKV

I am using the i06DCA also and haven't noticed a heat transfer at all I'm using a 1.5ohm i06 at 4.0v and a long stainless drip tip, what voltage are you vaping yours at?

I have noticed some heat with these drip tips. I've been using the Ripple for a few weeks and when using it at 4.4V with a 2.5Ω i06 it will get hot. It only gets noticeable after chain-vaping for a bit. If I give it a short break it's fine, it dissipates the heat quickly. My 2 cents...

I was using 2 different atty's. A 2.5Ω at 4.2 volts and a 3.5Ω at 4.8 volts. Honestly, I don't recall if one was more prone to getting hotter than the other. And, like 'Lax' said, a short break and it cooled off. The 3.5Ω went to i06 heaven the other day, and I'm not noticing the 2.5Ω'er getting as warm/hot per my original post, so maybe it was the higher Ω'ed atty that was more prone to do that.

hmm, just checked it and the 2.5Ω is actually metering at 2.9Ω - perhaps that's why it's not heating up as much at 4.2 volts. I don't know! None of this is a big deal to me - I'll surely continue using the i06, the DCA, and looking forward to trying the SS drip tip.

I guess it will heat up if your puff is long enough or if the atty gets hot enough. It's only metal but I think Markum and Loft has your answer unless you have one made out of some heat resistant material. I use mine at around 5 volts and haven't noticed the slightest heat what so ever but I vape at around 7 to 8 watts so maybe that's why. I had a Delrin stick to my lip from dry spot but not because of heat. It had a very loose fit to start with. Everyone has their own vaping styles and what works for one won't necessarily work for all

Just to specify a little more... The end of the drip tip isn't where I notice enough heat to slow me down, it's the shoulder on the Ripple style. The way I hold it to my lips that shoulder rests on my bottom lip. So after vaping hard on it, and I take long drags, I will notice that edge is what gets too hot to comfortably hold to my lip.

Hasn't kept me from using it a ton :)

Yes, they will heat up if you chain vape or vape higher wattages. There are only two o-rings that hold the tip in place, they are not very thermal resistant and gets quite warm. The closer you get to the center of the atomizer, the warmer it's going to be. Also, orientation will play a very small role. Heat rises, if you chain vape then the warmth will eventually reach your lips. Regardless if they're around the body or the tip of the driptip.

I'm dot a big fan of the rippled one because of the way the collar feels on my lip either. Not because of heat, I just don't like the feel of it. I love the tapered one and the sleeve to put another tip in. I think the rippled drip tip needs the mouth piece end taperd down or something.

Anyone know where I can get the I06 sleeve and some 2.5ohm I06 attys? I know the IKV store is down until he figures out the problem he is having with all the bank chargebacks. I dont see the site live for a month or so. Hopefully I'm wrong =[
I think he's open but just needs to stock because on some of the products I get the add to cart thing. Like the 555 PG I got it and a couple other ones. I don't know for sure.

Well the IKV site wont let you order anything. Issac posted this

From those nasty fraudulent charge-backs from the Philippines, There was 5 total and two from the US now totaling $4,500 in transactions alone, not counting lost product. Well, our credit card processor didn't appreciate that so much. So after 3 years IKV is now labeled as high risk and they're giving us 2 weeks before shutting us down. Our merchant provider has found a new bank for us, but they want 7.95% off every transaction. That's just robbery, but in all honesty I'm willing to do it, but have found alternatives yesterday.

The major issue is that our processor has been showing absolute zero activity since the 30th of March, meaning for all the orders we have been taking in since, we haven't been paid Anything. so every order we pack and dispatch is purely on my dime. We're owed $10,500.00. It's as if our back end was down for 2 weeks plus dispatching orders. You can imagine how difficult it is to run like that, we're talking over 500 orders shipped basically for free and at the cost of products, shipping supplies etc while paying to keep the business running. It definitely doesn't bode well considering I just purchased our first house this month.

I had spent the day tracking this stuff down and as it turns out..Well, when you make an order through us, it goes to Authorize.net, which sends it to Digital financial group, which sends it to Merchant-now, which is then sent to Cts holding, then to us. My merchant provider is merchant-now financial, he said the processor is NOT actively looking to shut ecigs down but we have been flagged by the risk department and they could be holding all of our funds. To find out more, I started calling calling everyone in the circle and the odd thing is, is that none of the mention groups knew what I was talking about and at the end they wanted to connect me back with Merchant-now. Extremely frustrating and confusing. I wish had cool super secret toys for you guys for this down time, but this is the ugly truth and I can't really re-open till I know the payments start coming through or I can get a grasp on what is exactly happening.
Sincerely,
Isaac

Yeah I saw the link to ecigcharleston.com and they are all sold out. I haven't found any other vendors that have them. I want to order from the US. By the time my package would arrive from the UK, Isaac would have the site back up and going.
