I am a huge fan of the Ikenvape io6 atomizer. For me it is the best combination of vapor production and taste available on the market today. However, the Achilles heel of the io6 is their drip tips. Normal 306 drip tips do not ft on an io6, so you have to use a special drip tip that is available on Iken's website, the Silhouette. I was using one of these and everything was great. However, I have read horror stories of them getting stuck on the io6s w/ terrible results (broken tips, guts pulled out of the attys, etc).
Of course that wasn't going to happen to me because I was going to be extra careful putting them on and off. The problem is that I am a bit of a disaster when it comes to doing crafty type things w/my hands. So of course it happened. Last night I got a tip stuck on an io6 and in the proccess of pulling it off I shattered it. Damn, now what to do? I have others on order from Iken and from Theecig.com (cool pryex tip made especialy for io6s), but w/the Christmas mail mess who knows when I was going to get them.
So there I was w/my favorite vape staring me in the face, but I was unable to use it. Fortunately, I am a vaping pack rat w/a vast collection of useless (usually) vaping junk. So I dived into my tackle box and after some desperate scrabbling around I found a delrin whistle tip that came w/an Iken 801 mini atomizer. It worked! It fit over the io6 atty just fine and I was able to vape it. Ahhh back to the vaping bliss of the unbelievable taste and vapor that the io6 produces.
Ok it is not the most elegent solution. It is too close to the atty and produces a pretty hot vape, plus I am not a big fan of whistle tips, but at least I can vape the thing. So if anyone out there is as big a fan of the io6 as I am and breaks their Silhouette drip tip this is a decent stopgap measure until you can get more drip tips from Iken. Hopefully there will be an improved io6 drip tip in the future (hint, hint).
