Smoking cessation due to e-cigarette use was reported by 35.1% (30.7-39.5%) of current e-cigarette users, while a further 32.2% (29.9-36.5%) reported smoking reduction.

CONCLUSIONS:

E-cigarette use in the European Union appears to be largely confined to current or former smokers, while current use and nicotine use by people who have never smoked is rare. Over 30% of current e-cigarette users polled reported smoking cessation and reduction.

So yeah - the smart 'merican thing to do is regulate them out of practical existence.

Happy to see it, but the 30 percent quit rate has been documented before. Still nice to see confirmation. A study of vaping over several years not being associated with any harm would be an even stronger argument that this harms public health, not helps.

The FDA and CDC continues to publicly refuse to accept the effectiveness of vaping as a smoking alternative. They refuse to acknowledge the millions of people that have totally replaced smoking with vaping. And they repeat this lie over and over as a form of propaganda.

The only way to combat that is for someone like Dr F to repeat over and over the real truth in order to expose the govt lying campaign. It may be old news to you but it is vital news nonetheless.

Your 'lastly' goes on the top of the list and you can strike the others. I've watched co workers have varying results with ecigs. What I see is the ones who don't quit smoking entirely have an ongoing challenge but as long as they don't stop vaping they seem to make progress. A brother of mine was a dual user for 10 months. I dual used for 6 weeks. If there was more social and government support the success rates would be higher. Switching is as much a mental thing as physical.

But not on this large of a scale involving 27,000+ participants before. Not so easy to blow off as an irrelevant small population sample.
And this is what terrifies everybody who is NGO and tax supported. If tobacco taxes collapse they will be in a world of hurt, a financial pain factory. OF COURSE they will lie cheat and steal to protect the money that feeds their families.

I wonder how many vapers in the UK voted for leaving the EU. I wonder if there were enough of them to turn the election. I think if you vape in the US and are a single issue voter like me you're going to pick Trump over Hillary. When I've thought about vaping as distruptive I was thinking about the money but may be the political fallout will be more significant. Are vapers in Europe going to bust up the EU so they can vape in peace? It's plausible.

A glaring omission on your part...
--Tobacco Control

Also known as Big Charity.

They are more important than most think.
They are the ones going after the hearts and minds of Joe Public.

I said big tobacco.
Big Tobacco is not even remotely the same thing as Tobacco Control.

Tobacco Control is these people...
Rampant Antismoking Signifies Grave Danger

They are mostly funded by Big Pharma...
FORCES International - News Portal

And the government through MSA money.

They are the minions in this battle.
They are the alphabet soup.

--American Lung Association (ALA)
--American Heart Association (AHA)
--American Cancer Society (ACS)
--The Legacy Foundation
--Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK)
--American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
--Action on Smoking and Health (ASH)

Geez, there are so many more, it's hard to remember them all.

Oh great, now I have to quote myself because I left out a biggie...
MAINSTREAM MEDIA

None of this plan to demonize us would have worked without their complicity.
In fact, some feel that they are more to blame than anyone.

Where are all the heartwarming stories of vapers who have saved their lives?
Yeah, exactly.

And going after the children. (Make of that what you will...)

But what is true of so many of these "experts" is that if they don't continue to enforce their alleged "truths" the money that supports their version of reality dries up - and they are out of a big, cushy - usually tax dollar supported - source of income.

But hey - they are only being "charitable" - the word practically spews sunshine and unicorn poots.
