Hello I am getting a Smoant Battlestar 200w with a uwell crown iii tank that uses .25 (80-90W) and .5 (70-80W) coil heads. When I used this calculator

VapeCalc

it says at .25ohm with 90 watts it says 18.97amps and at .5 at 80 watts it says 12.65amps. So it seems that using the .5 at max watts i'd be ok with a 20A but for the .25ohm at 90 watts I am getting close to the 20A limit. My question is 18.97amps to close to pushing the limits for use with a 20A battery or should I get a 25A or 30A battery just to be safe.

According to this table I found there are not that many true 25-30A batteries out there. So wondering if 20A would be safe.

Although in addition I do see some LG HB2,4,6 that are 30A but only 1500mah, the battlestar takes two 18650 batteries so if I got those 1500s would that mean I would have 3000mah total for 30 hours of battery time???
Thank you.

When using a regulated power device amp draw from the batteries is calculated differently.

At the low voltage cutoff amp demand will be highest, the power range you intend to use determines the appropriate minimum CDR cells to use.

Everyone has to set their own personal comfort zone / saftey levels.
Used in a regulated power device:
20a CDR ~ 50w - 60w per cell.
25a CDR ~ 60w - 75w per cell.
30a CDR ~ 75w - 90w per cell.

My personal comfort level is the lower wattage's of the above.

MNKE batteries are 1500mah to and the punch from them last longer . You can get them from imrbatteries.com for $5.00 each. I use them and they last longer than you think and perform extremely well.

No,you do not get 3000mah in series the voltage is doubled, not the Mah.

hey thanks for all the info to read. So technically though I should buy the batteries that have a 30A rating if going to be using 75-90w vaping, right?

Always buy the highest amperage rated batteries that have the highest MAH in the bunch. There are tradeoffs between the two parameters.

Steam Engine is the place to play around with the variables. In the battery preset selection you can pick the battery your are thinking about and see how it will perform.
