I am currently waiting for a parcel from the US - when it is here, I can tell you more. Basically yes, we can use magnets and some in the German community do so, but the correct dimension magnets aren't produced anywhere, so we are using the next bigger magnets and rely on manufacturing tolerances - some will fit, some not.

I ordered 100 and when they are here, I can tell you how many will fit into the 2012 flat top SS buttons.

I am not yet posting the link because some people just won't read the text and order and might get upset =)

The longer adjustable throw buttons could probably work with magnets although you would probably only be able to fit 2 inside and have to set it up with a very short throw 2 maybe 3mm. This would also leave a very light button press.

However my ss non adjustable throw 2012 buton will not take magnets at all.

The reason for this is because the old style button had a short bit that went into the button but the newer styles have a much longer part that goes into the button housing.

Ok, I just got vape-tinkering-mail. I never saw an original magnetic GGTS-button, but I can tell you that the magnets work with the new, adjustable, flat top SS 2012 button. Three magnets are too thick and dont leave enough space for throw, but two magnets work well.

The manufacturing tolerance thing is true - all magnets I got actually fit into the hole of the button, but I would only use about 40% of them - the others are fitting too tight.

Here is the link: D6-3.5x2mm N38 NiCuNi Plated Ring Magnet

Its maybe a touch lighter with the magnets, but it also feels smoother. I think those bigger magnets are simply thicker and stronger than what was originally used.

I will leave mine in the button, for me its better than the spring. It is not permanent either, you can simply replace them with a spring again if you dont like the magnets,

...and they are 28 cents US for a pair of them. One of you murricans should go ahead and buy a couple and spread them around the family.

Edit: If anyone in Germany or close by wants a pair, let me know.

Just want to let everyone know that the magnets work well in the new adjustable buttons with the brass axis. Brass axis, brass button axis and magnets work well together. My GGTS works a lot more reliable now. I might even try the Kick again.

How did you set it up? I am curious?

There is not much science to it, really.
1) Unscrew the button head from the button axis - you might want to carefully grab the axis on the battery side with a pair of pliers.
2) remove the spring and axis, well, most likely the spring will remove itself at this point.
3) Insert a magnet into the button base
4) Insert a second magnet into the button base, making sure it is pushed outwards by the first magnet
5) Insert axis
6) Screw the button head onto the axis again

You can try 3 magnets in +- -+ +- configuration, but you will have less space to adjust the throw. 2 magnets are enough, really.

Couple things about the magnets now that I have them:

Buy a lot, like 100 for sure. They are cheap so you might as well, it's going to cost 6 dollars to deliver them in the USA anyway.

All the switches are slightly different and one of the switches was a real problem. I had to go through about 60 magnets before I found three that worked. Of course it was the first switch I tried. Got a little worried that only 3 of 60 magnets worked in it. Then when I picked up the second switch almost every magnet fit even the ones from the "bad" pile.

Three fit very well in the new switches and fire fantastically well. Two also works but I like more resistance and a very short throw so I opted for 3.
