I've not bought a ecig yet but still researching and reading more. Been a few days of reading and ironically sucking on analogues while researching.
I'm from malaysia and was checking forum suppliers that would ship over here and i think i'm settling for healthcabin.

Am actually considering between an ego c twist or a vamo/bamboo then i stumbled into battery articles which makes me worry about bamboo since bamboo on healthcabin suggested unprotected joytech 2200mah 18650 but i saw another larger samsung 2600mah but they're both unprotected.

Will a bamboo be a good starter set? I think i should be able to learn to live with a manual quickly thou.

Could someone with more experience with putting together a set help me out?

I'm thinking of having a budget of aprox usd100 to start off with the setup should give me a reasonable setup.

I usually carry around a battery pack (12k mah) for charging phone while on the move which i think might work with ecig batts so i'm still not sure should i get 1 or 2 batts.

Please help me select a decent setup for aprox usd 100 on healthcabin not inclusive of delivery (cheaper better of course)
Without any ejuice, those i would prolly opt for local supplier since it might hold up my package according to healthcabin shipping warnings.

If someone knows of another forum supplier that would deliver to my country with good variety and decent shipping would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help

I think V2cigs will deliver to you but they have much less variety than HealthCabin. They only have KR808d-1 batteries. But that is what I started with and still use it when I am in public and dont want to look like I'm doing drugs. Lol. They also have a lifetime warranty on their batteries. Their shipping is crazy expensive though. They are in Florida. I am in southern Canada and they charge $30. Can't imagine what they would charge you.

I don't know anything about the Bamboo but I would be afraid of an unprotected battery. I just put in my first HealthCabin order and they certainly have alot to choose from. I have an eGo twist VV that I really like but I don't know if they carry that. Have a look.

It is always a good idea to have more than one battery, though I managed with one when I first started by charging often so it wouldn't take very long. I don't know if the charger you have will work. I almost always buy the charger that was specifically designed for the battery to be safe.

I'm sure someone else can give you better advice, but this is what I have to add. Happy shopping!

Here's a little information regarding batteries.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

There are quite a few thread about the bamboo in the VAMO forum. Here's just one
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/360795-new-stainless-steel-vamo-ego-apv.html

After you have 5 posts (plus wait approx 1 hour) you'll be able to post in other forums!

Either choice is a great choice. BTW, I know what you mean about smoking and reading here. I used to smoke like a mad woman while reading here before I started vaping.

Thats exactly the article that scare me about the unprotected batt recommended by healthcabin.

I think i smoked more while reading here. Its so stressful with the thousands of options to start off with.

Wasn't looking forward to having a few kits thou. Looking to get just 1 batt and a few cartomizer to switch flavors.

I always suggest to start with an eGo, and a C-twist is an excellent model. They're sturdy and well-built, and they vape pretty hard. A C-twist goes up to 4.8v, which is pretty good (especially for a new vaper).

Was leaning towards c twist earlier too till i read that a number of vaper who started out with ego twist upgraded to others and on top of that having to get a few c twist since the battery isn't readily changable wories me. for a c twist i could get couple of batts for vamo/bamboo or other similar models with replaceable batts or is this thinking wrong to start off with?

I am by no means a battery expert. I do rely on the experts here for that.

Protected batteries have a small circuit board located within the battery that shuts down the battery in over/under voltage situations or in cases where the current draw is too high/shorts. Less likely to cause thermalrunaway. Safe chemistry batteries like the IMR do not have the circuit board (they're shorter) but use a different chemical make up to store/discharge the power. They hold the voltage up better at 3.7v but the downside is they have shorter charge (less mah). Since they are unprotected, you have to use a protected charger.

That's very basic, and Roly explained it better than I can. It's best to invest in good batteries and a quality charger. I mark my batteries and keep them in pairs.

With the VAMO you replace the batteries. With the twist, it is the battery. I have one twist battery that's probably 5 months old. Another twist lasted 3 weeks.

If you get the twist, I'd recommend a minimum of two batteries. What would you do if one died? With the VAMO, the same at least.

I started with and have stayed with eGo C manual passthroughs with 2.0ohm cartomizers... love being able to vape while they charge and all its safety features. My eGo C manuals hold the same charge 6-8 hours depending on how I vape and I use those when I need to leave the house. They're shorter because there's no USB port.

what sort of cartomizer would be a good start to go with vamo? Vivi nova and kanger seems like popular choices. preferably not a rebuildable yet. need to experience abit more before trying out a rebuildable. Something replaceable that would last a little would be great. i think getting 10 cartomizer for a start would be sufficient or is 5 pieces good enough to last a few months?

Anyone know is the unprotected joytech or samsung battery at healthcabin safe to use?

I checked on the Joyetech website, and found they have an authorized dealer in Malaysia. Their online website is Digital Vapor .com
Their prices appear to be very reasonable and they have free shipping in the Malaysia area for orders over 160.00RM, which converts to around $50.00 US. They have Ego style batteries and also carry e-liquid. You might want to check that out and see if it might be a good place to start. It'd be so much faster and cheaper with shipping.

They are as safe as any other battery if used and handled properly. The VAMO (HC calls it Bamboo) has built in protection and is designed for the unprotected batteries.

Reading the Vamo Batt thread seems to have so many different batt setup. I'll get batt from a local store that sells those high powered flashlight that uses the different batts. I think they carry 18350 and 18650 and chargers.

I've checked out their site. I did though of getting from them since they're local but they don't have a physical location for me to check it out. Wouldn't have mind paying abit more then what it would cost from HC if could support local brick and mortar.

I think i've kinda roughly nailed down what to get on Healthcabin and hope someone with more experience help look it over for me

What do you guys think about these?
1x eGo Bamboo APV V2 (Stainless Body) [D-B4 APV Stainless] - $43.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

1x Mini Vivi Nova Tank Clearomizer (2.5ml Tube & Long wick) [D-A8 Vivi Nova 2.5ml Kit] - $8.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

2x Vivi Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 (Exchangeable Long Wick)

Will get batteries and juice from a local store, battery from one that specializes in flashlights. Apparently those bling flashlights uses similar batteries. Most likely getting 1x 18650 and 2x 18350 to try the different setup.

Am i missing anything else? I was thinking of getting another carto to try. Should i get the Kanger or some other on healthcabin? Would be interested to try different flavours without changing too much things so figures each flavour a carto?

Oh and im gonna get Black Carbon Fiber VAMO | Vapor Skinz when i place my order too haha

Hi Erubus, I use the Kanger T3 with my Ego twist and I am very pleased with it. It's super easy to fill. I just use a dropper but I'm planning to get a syringe with a blunt nose needle. I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if you like the Ego Bamboo, it's kind of interesting looking to me too. :)
