I just got my adapters yesterday to use my new cartos on my Joye 510 battery. It took me quite a while to figure out when to refill my carts with the OEM equipment, and now I'm wondering if the cartos are the same when almost dry. Are there other signs than the dry, almost acrid taste of a dry or almost dry carto?

Thanks for any help y'all can provide!

You should notice that the flavor goes away and might get a burnt marshmellow taste in your mouth. If the burnt taste is really strong you might have burnt the filler in the cart. It happens to me every once in awhile and I just throw the cart away if its burnt. Increase in vapor can be a sign that they are about dry from what I have heard. I know the taste you are referring to when using a 510. Its not quite the same taste IMO. How is using a cart on a 510 working out? I have a 510 and KR808 I use my 808 w/adapter for my 510 atty.

Thanks!

I'm loving it, frankly! :D I bought 2 510 atty -> 808 carto adapters and am in heaven with the V4L Grape 24. I didn't care for the pomegranate and the lemon merangue pie tastes flowery to me (don't dislike it, just doesn't taste like my Ma's pie -- which I didn't truly expect it to). I like the peach and, again, the grape. I ordered Smilin Menthol this morning, along with some peppermint ice cream and Doc Pepper ... and a lanyard and 2 manual PTs. I'll be ordering 808 batt -> 510 atty adapters as well so that I can use my original 510 equipment with the V4L PTs.

I've just begun reading about the potential for burnt fill in the cartos and will have to keep an eye on that issue, but I believe I've just become a multi-vendor-equipment vapor because I really like to no-hassle aspect of the carto (and I'm quite tired of refilling my 510 cart every 45 minutes to hour.)

I'm lovin' every minute of it.

Hi Jan!

Omaha is right: with cartos it's more of a marshmallow taste - I've never tasted anything that I would described as burnt or acrid.

I know you want to use the 510 equipment you have and that you're getting V4L passthroughs but please do me (and yourself) a favor: get at least one v4l battery.

I say that because their batteries are TRUE 3.7v batteries where the 510 batteries (even those in the Tornado/Ego) are in the 3v range.

I know .7v doesn't seem like a lot but it can make a real difference in terms of flavor, vapor and TH.

Enjoy!!!!!!

Thanks, Yanks21!

I thought about a V4L battery and will probably get one eventually. I'm trying right now to stock true necessities, and since I've already picked out my mod-of-choice I don't want to stock too many batts. I've still got some unflavored to order and, of course, my mod, but I'm sure I'll end up ordering at least one V4L batt to try out ... as long as the IL ban doesn't hit first .

I just got my first 510 PT as well and can tell that that .7V may well make a large difference.

Thanks for the tip!!

Oh, you've got a mod - OKAY. Forget what I said about voltage  :D

Not quite yet I don't. Deciding where to best utilize the available cash at the moment and not looking forward to a month-long wait once I actually place the order.

Jan (* who hates to wait, but can when she has to  *)

Oh, okey-dokey. Well, seriously I have a PureSmoker Protege (3.7v) and I had a Chameleon (3.7v - can vape at 6v but didn't like cartos at 6v) and the reason I say "had" a Chameleon is because I sold it.

Why did I sell it? Because it cost me over a $100 with batteries and I'm sitting in my living room vaping with different flavors on all my PVs and it occurred to me: hey, this V4L battery hits just as good as if not better than the Chameleon so when someone offered to buy it from me I sold it to him.

It's a GREAT mod but it was the same hit as my V4L battery and the V4L XL battery was giving me the same battery life and the v4l battery only cost me $15!

Sweet! Good Info ... Thanks again :)
