A little steamy tho.. probably not quite dry? Well, there it goes, calming down now some...
Leaford, or any other experts, besides being silly obsessed tinkering fanatical fools, are we doing anything to these carts if we boil them? Or are you too silly and obsessed with that pretty girl to care at the moment? (Some people have dates, others sit around boiling and reassembling ecig cartos on a sattiday night...) :hubba::hubba::hubba:

:D No, I am still able to focus on work. :D

As far as I know boiling doesn't do the cart any harm. It may even extend cartomizer life by removing any residue that accumulates on the heating coil.

Ha ha ha...I'm such a nerd.

Here ~ everyone please have a laugh @ my expense (it's okay because I laugh at myself when I do stupid stuff and don't mind being laughed at)

So I removed the white end caps, along with the clear rubber ring (just to be safe) and I placed some carts in the pot of boiling water.

Being curious as to the "smells" that others described when boiling carts, I placed my nose above the pot to get a waft of the vapors.

"Ew" I said. "Stinky!" It had a very distinct BURNT smell. I decided to give it one more whiff. Yep, again...that very distinctive burnt smell. What the heck? Did I have a burnt out carto in there that was really giving off that much of a burnt smell?

"Hey, wait a minute" I said to myself ~ That smells like burning hair? It was then that I realized I had gotten not only my nose over the pot to inhale the vapors, but I had cinged the end of my hair on the flames under the pot. AH ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I swear I do the stupidest things some times

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I would have done it too I'm sure if I would not have read this post. Note to self "keep scrunci on emergency status at all times."

He he he, yep I'm a real brainiac sometimes. :)

ALC..I'm glad I was able to help you avert the same possible fate in the future ;-)

There was no damage to my hair, and honestly, when the wind was blowin and trying to light and/or smoke a cig back in those horrible old analog days my hair musta been cinged countless times. I'll take this ONE EC related mistake over analog ANY DAY! (and in all fairness it cannot be blamed on EC but instead on my lack of common sense!)

Not to mention all the cigarette burns on your clothes, right? ;)

Touche Leaford! (Oh yeah, and not to mention that one time at a crowded bar, before smoking was banned in public, and I planted my hot cherry right in some girls buttcheek because it was seriously THAT crowded and I got pushed...I offered to buy her some new pants)

After I boiled my carts, I put them all on some paper towels to dry and I figured today they were sufficiently dry enough to try them out.

I noticed that they weren't vaping as well as normal, seemed a little dry ~ but then I realized that they Looked a little dry so instead of the normal 16 - 17 drops I kept going ~ I was able to safely add 25 drops to the boiled carts and they are vaping Excellent!

I find this to be a total bonus! :thumb:

I've really been wanting a flat mouth piece. Since this is my first PV I don't have any lying around. I was even thinking of buying some Ciggarillos (sp?) and taking the mouth piece off of them. Thanks for the link!

I tried the tips to black and milds. Works great for one cart. They always seem to rip open after 20-30 mins. I had an idea of using electrical tape on the mouth piece to keep it from ripping so fast. Never got around to it. The price of 1.30 a black and mild doesn't make those worth it.

I found the tips off Swisher Sweet minis work perfect. I've been using the same one for five days now.

DECLARATION: I am boiling no more carts.

It works, but now I just top 'em and top 'em and after that many tops I figure I'm frugal enough to make my darling grandmother, who pre-ordered her cremains to be delivered to the funeral in a cardboard box ("Don't be silly. Just everyone go out for dinner and order anything you want instead.") happy. And I buy blanks for startovers.

I was never remotely frugal, anyway. Ask Steve.

I ain't gonna study boil no more
I ain't gonna study boil no more
I ain't gonna studdyy that boil no moooore...
