You will have to have PG or VG. Unless you have a license to handle nicotine, you have to have it in a carrier base.
If you order the higher nic bases, you need to cut it with, again, either PG or VG, or a combination of the 2.
It also depends on what nic level you are ordering. For me, if I ordered 24mg nic, I would be fine and could actually vape it straight.
I normally order 48mg in PG or higher and have to cut it with the same amount of VG

Unless you have the proper equipment/authorization, handling pure nicotine is extremely dangerous. The pure nicotine is mixed with either PG or VG (sometimes a combination of the two) and then sold. Usually you would purchase a liquid at a higher level than what would be safe to vape and then cut it down with pure VG or PG add flavoring, and then vape.

If you bought 100mg/ml nicotine liquid, and put 1ml of it in a bottle with say 8ml of VG and then 1ml of flavoring, you would have a 10mg liquid with 10% flavoring.

I'm new too so I did it the easy way. I ordered (from WL) 1 250ml of 18mg nicotine in PG and 1 250ml of 18mg nicotine in VG. I then mixed them together in a 4 cup measuring cup (and stirred with a glass candy thermometer) and poured them back in the bottles they came in. I did mix back and forth between the bottles to get the best total mix.

So now I have 18mg nicotine at 50/50. Adding my flavoring will change the ratio to somewhere around 60 pg/ 40 vg or maybe a little higher on the pg depending on how much flavoring I add. It will also lower the nicotine to around 14.5mg (at a 20% flavoring mix).

I'm really not that concerned about the exact pg/vg ratio or the exact nicotine level at this point (although I may be later). I've made two small batches of ry4, changing the second one a little, and they both turned out very good. Of course I got my starting recipe on this site, which helped. A lot!

Also, be sure to get some graduated cylinders and syringes. I should have bought a few more the first time around. Oh well, it's a learning process, and lot's of fun too!

I'd go with lower nic for a beginner, 100MG is touchy stuff. You do not want it on your skin, in your eyes or droplets of it left on surfaces. You have to measure accurately a tenth of a ml does matter with that stuff. Try double what you vape, that's plenty strong to get any flavor and PG/VG ratio you want. The 100mg stuff is for mixing in larger batches, like 50 mils at a time finished juice.
