new to DIY - Juice is separating. Am I doing something wrong? Does it need to steep longer?

Here is the recipe I got that is supposed to mimic the old Puresmoker "firecracker" - a cinnamon red hot flavor that is my go to juice. Here is the recipe:

2.5 ml nic base VG 100mg/ml nic

14.25 ml of dilutent PG / VG (at 60/40)

6.12 ml Red Hots

2.12 Red Hots Concentrate.

a few drops of PGA to help it mix as recommended by the person I get the recipe from.

it is staying separated and turns milky when shaken. It's been about 3 weeks now that I have let it steep. ingredients were all bought at Perfumers Apprentice and Nude Nicotine. It looks like about 20%-25% of the separation on top and it is a little clearer than the other 75-80% below. Any of you more experienced DIY'ers have some insight? I would be most appreciative!

Other than the Red Hots melting the plastic bottle, all I can think of is somehow oil got in the mix. How long does the separation take after you shake the bottle?

a line starts to form about 4 minutes and is pretty close to separated after 10 minutes. I was under the impression the PGA was supposed to fix the VG issue. I read on the E-recipe forum where someone else says no more than 20% VG so I guess I will try that.

Would the order of initial mixing everything make a difference?

If your using a plastic tank certain flavors WILL CRACK or ETCH (eat) your tank! Cinnamon, citrus, high acid juices will do this. You might want to try using a glass or metal tank. I believe their is a list of flavors on ecf that are considered tank crackers and red hot is one of them. Also for storage, it should be stored in a glass bottle not plastic. Hope this helps a bit. As far as separation is concerned, I've never had that happen so I can't be much help with that.

It will damage polycarbonate, but it won't do a thing to polyethylene.

Not all plastic is the same just as not all metals are the same.

I have a 4oz bottle of redhots flavoring in it's original PE bottle and the flavoring and bottle are doing fine more than a year after purchase.
