I have a few flavors from TFA.
The Absinthe I bought is pre diluted with alcohol, they also have the undiluted concentrate which I am tempted to get for mpre flavor.
Using Dans calculator, should I be adding it as straight flavor, or flavor & PGA?
I've seen several pposts stating it is a strong flavor, could be stronger :)

I have to plead ignorance. I buy my TFA Absinthe from Wizard Labs and they say it is concentrated flavor in alcohol. This is copied from their site:
Description
8mil glass vial.

Concentrated Absinthe flavoring by The Flavor Apprentice.
Absinthe concentrated flavoring is FDA approved for use in food, beverages, and products for human consumption.

Ingredients: Natural flavoring, Ethyl Alcohol.

All Wizard Labs flavor concentrates are undiluted, full strength concentrates direct from the manufacturer, and contain no Diacetyl.
Recommended usage is to test at 5% flavoring in your recipe, and adjust to taste.

I do NOT use it at 5%

Took me a couple of reads to understand what is going on here.

I have only used the Flavor, not the concentrate. (The concentrate seems to have been offered for overseas customers primarily.)

There is some guy who has written a blog on flavoring levels and one of the points it makes is that too much flavoring actually reduces the strength of the tasted flavor. So, sometimes flavoring % needs to go down to get more flavor. I know this sounds backwards, but it is the reason that the accepted norm on this sub is to start low and work up. If you start low and work up and 20% is still weak, at least you know you haven't overshot that point. (Called level 7 by the joker who wrote the blog.)

This coming from someone who has recipes that range from less than 1% to 35% total flavoring and needs strong flavor.

I just got the flavouring, tried at 15% and 10%. Its a bit "spicy" at higher concentrations (especially w/nic) so I would recommend 10% or lower. I am recognizing also that it will need some sweetener to balance it out.

P.S. I should say that I just got this and mixed up some juice yesterday (one @ 15% flavour 12mg, the other 10% 0nic) so I will repost once I do more experiments and let these ones steep a bit...

UPDATE: Tried both today and they are much more tolerable, seems 10% is about right for me
