I figured I would try my hand at diy so i ordered some stuff.

250 ml of 6mg vg base
120ml of 6mg pg base
Flavor west is who I picked for flavorings this time to see if i can get something decent out of it for under $40
Sugar cookie
Waffle
Blueberry
Butterscotch
Vanilla custard
Monstrous
Gummy bear
Sweetener

I'm not really crazy about combo flavors so i picked single flavors I've tried else where and liked. The only thing ill end up mixing is blueberry waffles. I havea bunch of 10ml and 30ml bottles laying around that Ii cleaned already and I went with a 6mg vg and pg base so I'm not handling raw nicotine to see if this is something I can get into

Since I got into dripping I'm going thru almost 10ml a day and it's just too costly too keep buying from the store, even online is a bit much when I consider how hit or miss it can be and waste cash on bad juice. Hopefully this isn't a disaster

I just know you are going to love what you are getting ready to make. The expense is what got me into DIY but the tastes are what keep me interested. Nothing wrong with juices made with a single flavor. There are so many wonderful flavorings. I enjoy those just as much, if not more, than some of the more complex recipes I use to try when I first began. My tastes buds are like me and prefer easy.

I have gotten so I mix up 350mls of unflavored 24 mg nic and just add drops of flavoring to it in small 6ml bottles. I use the super concentrated and gourmet flavorings from vaping Zone. You use 1-3% percentage of flavorings rather than 10-20% of some of the other types. Seems more economical to me. It might be a sloth-like mixing style, but it's working for me. Good luck and have fun. :)

Bman, welcome to DIY. It's a BLAST!

There are lots of threads with suggestions on how to get started. Read the blogs by Hoosier and Dannyv45. They have fantastic tips for starters.

I've been DIYing since July, and have recently tended toward TFA flavorings, but I think the principles are all the same. You may see that recipes are very specific with which flavoring manufacturer is being used. A blueberry from one company isn't like blueberry from a different company. And then there's "Ripe", "Wild", or even "Candy" all of which have slightly different characteristics.

Sometimes a single flavor isn't complete (but it will give you an idea of what to expect.) You might need vanillas or sweeteners or even complimentary fruits to flesh out what you expect to be the final flavor.

Start small, and even though a batch might be "disgusting", perhaps an addition of something else can fill out the flavor. Bill's Magic Vapor (check out his blogs) talks about a 100DT (drop test).that allows you to make very small batches (about 3mL) to develop the ratios of flavors that taste good to *YOU*.

That's a very good selection of flavors and they should work well as stand alone's.

Here's some reading to help you get started.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine baces regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

E-Cigarette Forum - Boletus - Blogs

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Thanks for the heads up on the bills magic vapor. Making smaller bottles like that would be great as I could use less flavoring at a time to figure out what works for me.

I've havent been this excited about vaping since I quit the cigs in march 2013. I'm really looking forward to diy.

I'm a KISS kind of guy, the more I make something complicated the higher the chance of disappointment so easy works great for me.

I figured start with easy stand alone flavors and see what happens.

The diy community is great here, I've been doing a lot of reading this month in this section. You have a great crowd here and I'm happy to join it

I agree with Dinger in that sometimes (often) a single flavor isn't complete. Just this morning I mixed a single raspberry that a fellow member swears by. Didn't do much for me so I added a little chocolate, a little cocoa, a little rum and a little Vienna cream. Much better now. :) In fact, the more I vape it the more I like it. Good thing I wrote down the recipe.

DIY is sooo much fun! Even if you mess up once in a while (been there done that, and still do) the cost is so minimal that it's no big deal.

I've also found that "sometimes", mixing 2 (or 3 or 4) not so great mixes together turns into 1 not so bad mix. Maybe not great, but at least vapeable.

One more thing. Most flavor companies have at least some flavors that are very good and some that are  As you get more into DIY, check out some of the other manufacturers.

I had to start somewhere, so I figured start cheap and if i get something that I like then I'll really be hyped to try higher quality flavors.

The diy cost is so much cheaper then buying pre made and I've been burned quite a few times ordering online and I'm sure I'll get burned in the future, at least with diy I'll have some control of it.

I know it's not going to go amazing right away, i know I'm gonna mess up but I'm going into it knowing this. Practice makes perfect and becoming a good chef is a long road I'm ready to travel

Well everything has steeped for 6 days, I've shook the crap out of them at least twice a day.
blueberry 15% 2 drops sweetener came out real good
custard 20% 2 drops sweetener it's ok not much flavor
waffle 15% 2 drops sweetener tastes pretty close to waffles i like it
butterscotch 20% 2 drops sweetener, this stuff is so good. It's nice and smooth and tastes great
sugar cookie 15% 2 drops sweetener, makes me want to chew when i vape it. Has a full taste to it, i really like this
Blueberry 15% waffle 5% 3 drops sweetener this is close to what i want, will have to adjust it to get it right but tastes good and smells great

overall i am very happy with my diy results so far. I only made 10ml bottles of everything so i have flavoring left
